Odd Framerate Issue?

I've had the game for a couple of days now, and I've loved it so far, but I'm having strange (what I think are) framerate issues. I have a pretty good rig (quad core i7 920, 12gb ram, ATI 6950) and thought the game would run fine (as it should because my computer exceeds the recommend specs by a bit), but I've noticed that at certain times in the game the framerate seems to slow down. I thought I'd be able to chalk that up to my specs not being high enough for whatever reason, so I ran fraps, and it's reporting that the fps is consistently over 100 (usually around the 105 to 110 range) without vsync and with vsync at a consistent 60 (as usual). I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I'm not even sure if it's a framerate issue - My computer doesn't slow down or anything, it just as though the player animations are choppy. I haven't heard about anyone else having the same issues so I guess I'm just taking a stab in the dark to see if anyone else has the same issue or has had the issue in a past nba 2k game and might have a remedy for it.Comment

I was in the same situation like u.. was like WTF, everythin is so choppy and laggy... And the i found out that the only way to get rid those ****, was to simply run to WINDOW mode. Just try it.. no lags and animations back to smooth once again. I think its one more bug of the game. This is the only solution i ve come up with , until now.Comment

Count me in the group that had minor framerate issues before forcing CCC to take over controls. Now that I am forcing CCC to control all of the video settings, game is gorgeous again.Comment

Re: Odd Framerate Issue?
I just went and downloaded some new drivers and a new version of Catalyst Control Center... set the anti-aliasing to 8x in the CCC dashboard, and Triple Buffering. Started the game, removed the in game AA... and man... I thought the game looked better before. The way the videocard detects edges and smooths... just absolutely beautiful. No more stuttering, no tearing, no jaggies at all.
Worked perfect for me too. Thanks for the tips! The game is smooth like never before.Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.Comment

Re: Odd Framerate Issue?
(Sigh) I hope someone comes up with a solution for this. 2k is notorious for not releasing patches quickly... especially for pc. I'm really tempted to buy the 360 and wait it out for the pc patch just so I can play without getting annoyed about the choppiness (the game is that good). If anyone else runs into this issue, please post it in this thread - I have a hard time believing there's only a few of us having this issue.Lowpressure Out! :bandito:Comment

Re: Odd Framerate Issue?
Glad I found this thread as I was having the same issues. It would run 120FPS with vsync turned off but we all know the issues with that. 60FPS with it on but the stuttering issues would be there. Found this thread and turned all AA off and put textures to low in-game. Went to the Nvidia control panel and put AA at 32 and rest AA features at highest setting, textures high and ran quick test run and boom, no issues.
With in-game settings on highest points I would get a high FPS in the benchmarks but the on screen game play would stutter badly. With it this way the FPS dropped in the benchmark but the gameplay was very smooth in 2K's benchmark demo which never was previously.Comment
