    Problem with progression

I decided to sim a few years ahead in my Association, so that I could start a new Laker dynasty. I was playing a game against Portland when Greg Oden jacked up a 3.

Come to find out that his 3pt tendency had gone from 0 to 40, even though his 3pt rating is rightfully abysmal. I started a new associatoin and simmed 1 year ahead to see if it'd happen again, and it did. After 1 year, Oden had a 3pt tendency of 14, Andrew Bynum went to 18, and Kendrick Perkins was a 7. Dwight Howard stayed at a 0 for some reason. But there's literally dozens of pf and cs whose 3pt tendencies get jacked in the off season.

This will definitely effect gameplay and stats. Can anyone else confirm this problem?

Haven't touch the Association Mode yet. It's far to early, without the rookies and all. Thanks for the heads up. If you have the time, and the patience, you could go into the C's and PF's and adjusts the ratings and tendencies accordingly.

Thanks for the heads up, will definitely keep an eye on this.

I'll do a quick sim on mine and get back to you.

Yeah it's happening in mine too.

For some reason it's not happening to Dwight Howard, but it is happening to Brook Lopez, Oden, and Roy Hibbert. Once they get some player editing stuff up, I'll try to see if there's something that shows a pattern with them that Howard is excluded from.

If this is just centers it might be tolerable to fix it on a year by year basis. Even if it impacts a few 4 or so I could probably work through it, but if it goes throughout all the players, it might very well break association mode.

From the looks of it a lot of players from a lot of positions have their 3 point shooting tendancies go up. I guess it's not as big a deal for perimiter players as some of them should have it go up but I'm gonna have to check this out a little more in depth. If this is happening to a high percentage of the league association could very well be broken after a few years are past.

          ....

Ok I did a lot of simulating, and checked the numbers. The good news is that it seems to max out at 40 at least. So you don't have Oden, at 80 3 point tendancy. lots of centers by the ends of their careers had 40 3 point shooting. Don't know if it affects other positions though, lots of 4's and the such had 17 or something similar.

Overall the tendancy for 3 point shooting increased. the tendancy in the present year is roughly 30 on average per team. It seems to rise pretty consistently until it gets to an average of 40. After that it stays at roughly 40. I was 20+ years simmed and it stayed at roughly 40 on average per team.

All in all I think this is something that they need to address, but as long as the player doesn't get positioned at the 3 point line, it's something that may not be as bad as I had initially feared. But without correction it will look like we will have those occasional Oden 3's like you witnessed.

            Re: Problem with progression

This affects any player that progresses. The more they progress, the more the 3pt tendency goes up. This completely ruins Association, after a couple seasons shooting percentages are awful. Not to mention how badly it affects gameplay. Does anyone have a console version of the game? I'm curious if the problem is present on Xbox or PS3.

Is there a way to make 2Ksports aware of this?

It's an issue on the console version as well, to be honest I can't believe more people aren't up in arms over this. This is a huge bug that ruins the main game mode. I sent 2kronnie a pm on the 2k boards, but god knows if he even read it or got the info to the right people.

                  Re: Problem with progression

The reason it's not probably a bigger issue right now for most people is that they are probably waiting until the lockout is over and the rookies are in the game to start an associatoin. But still if player progression is broken in association, the only thing that seems to be working right now is the greatest players - though there seems to be some audio issues there as well - mode, but this game.... this game right now is a travesty.

If they patch it in a reasonable amount of time for the PC guys I can live with it, but if they take till march or so like they did 2K10, I'm done with 2Ksports.
