    Problems getting new roster file?

Not even started and already the first noob problem. Ouch. I wanted to download a newer roster and decided to first take the latest 2K roster. After download is complete a screen comes up where I'm asked to save the file. There is one roster file listed (default I guess?), but I did not want to overwrite and klicked on 'create new file'. I entered a filename and confirmed. Nothing happens, the same file list with the already existing roster file appears again, just as if I had not tried to create a new file.

Then I found in the save/load options a setting for 'living rosters' (but no explanation what that exactly means). It's currently 'on'. Does this mean I'll get the latest roster automatically when I start the game? In my steam folder I only found a roster.iff file which dates back to Jan 15th (the day I installed the game). There is no folder in My Games. BTW, I'm on Win7 if that matters.

Can anybody tell me what's going on? I've checked some forums & google but what I found were other roster related issues. Sorry that I bother you with such crappy questions, but the manual does not tell anything. Thanks!

    Rosters should be saved in:

    C:\Users\nameofuser\appdata\roaming\2ksports\2k12\ saves

Check there to see if the roster saved. For some reason living rosters don't save automatically. I was updating the rosters manually by downloading the official roster files and manually placing them in the folder above. Now I just use community rosters.

    Check this post by Leftos.

The first section has some pretty good rosters that use the official rosters as a base.

Thanks for your hint. In fact I checked this folder earlier today but scrolled down too quickly looking for some NBA folders, thereby overseeing the 2Ksports folder which is first in the list. Stupid mistake. But now I need a break, after all my 5 fast breaks intercepted, missing 4 A+ 3pts throws and CPU killing me with 61% 3pts throw stats. Awsome.

Yeah, defending the 3 get's easier the more you play. I always switch to the closest defender when the cpu passes around the perimeter. Fast breaks also require experience . You will learn what works for you. I always drive towards the middle (trying to get to the front of the rim) to draw defenders on fast breaks.

Thanks for your help. I chose Albys roster and slider update. Unfortunately, I have to load them everytime I start the game. Looks like there is no way avoiding this.

I don't mind loading the rosters. I'm always looking at new updates on custom rosters.

If you want you can move the other roster files out of the save folder and just keep the one you want. I'm not sure if it will automatically load that roster. Won't hurt to give it a shot.
