there should be a few numbers after the HP 2000, maybe 3 numbers and 2 letters or something. The only reason I ask, some systems perform much better than others, even with the same specifications.
To be honest though, I don't think you'll be happy with it. It will look worse than the 360 and PS3 versions and less fluid.

I dont see any other numbers or letters.
If it is going to look worser than XBox and PS3 then I wont get it then.
I was looking forward to it though.

After thinking about it, I will still get it.
I play games on someone elses game console because my PS3 no longer reads Blu-ray discs. I am tired of playing when I HAVE to not when I want to.
If I still had my PS2 I would play it.
As far as controller how would I go about it. I dont have a wired 360 controller

Steam has a free trial weekend for a game called "Sanctum". You could download Sanctum for free and see how it runs on your laptop. This should give you some idea how your PC will perform.
Sanctum system requirements:
OS: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: 2.0+ GHz Core 2 Duo
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Disk Space: 2 GB free hard drive space
Video Card: Shader Model 3 – compatible video card
DirectX®: 9.0c or higher
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible, 16-bit
NBA 2K12 (recommended) System requirements: CPU: 3 GHz Dual Core processor or equivalent RAM: 2 GB GFX: Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT / AMD equivilant GFXRAM: 512MB with Shader Model 3.0 support
As for your controller... I would check Google/YouTube to see if there is some way to use your remote X-Box/PS3 controller with your PC. If that fails, you can run out to Wall-Mart and pick up a cheap wired X-Box/PS3 type controller

Where would I find Steam
I have a cord that allows me to connect to a 360 controller to the console or PC.

I did that Sanctum stream. It played good. I just had to play on a lower(med ) level.
I will buy the game tomorrow
OK cool, but I must say a few things.
First. It's always your choice. Myself and others are just providing information so you can make an informed choice.
Second. You can download NBA 2K12 via Steam; but, you need to understand that the patches for downloaded NBA 2K12 are not the same as the patches for the store bought NBA 2k12. In my experience, patches for the store version come out faster; but patches for the downloaded version are automatic. I.E. you log in and Steam will load the patch, even if you don't request the patch, look for the patch or know the patch exist, That said, its up to you to decide what version you want to buy.
Third. If for some reason your controls do not match the controls listed in the manual, I suggest going online and searching for software/topics/videos that explain how to emulate the controls you want. I.E. You have a Logitech controller and you want X-Box/PS3 controls. You can search the interwebs for software that will have your controller act like the controller of your choice.
Fourth. IMO, no matter what game you play (NBA 2k12 or Battle Field 3 or ARMA II) PC gaming takes more work. Updates/scans/downloads/configs or whatever, it's just more work. However, at the end of the day, you have a lot of people that use their skills to add mods that improve your gaming experience.

No problem. I always think things through when it come purchasing things. I dont care whether it is a labtop or gum. I always think of the different options I have or can I go without it. But like I said earlier in this thread, I am tired of playing games on someone elses console because my PS3 is messed up.
I will buy it store version because I dont like using my card online(got burned before), I am more of cash person. If I cant buy a pay card( I.E a PS3 card), I dont like buy things online.
Besides the controls, I am good because of the modders
if anything, I will look around the web for insight on the controls. I have a 360 controller with a wire plug. But, I think my g-mom has a Logitech in her computer room. I know she had one, but it was been a while since I last saw it.

Good stuff.
Just so you know. I have a PS3 type Logitech controller and on NBA 2K12 the "B" and "C" buttons are flipped. I do have an X-Box controller, but I have not used it for 2K12 so I can't help with that.
I went to gamestop and got a wired xbox controller and it works just like the 360. That was $27 or you can go to Best Buy and microsoft sells a black xbox360 wireless controller that comes with an attachment that goes in your pc that will detect the signal.
I'm glad that I thought to check on the PC version. I literally spent all day finding different cyberfaces, arena mods, physics mods, etc for me. This game is so day and night from the console version. I don't see myself buying the console version again...waaaay too many more options with the cpu version. Get on board if you can.
I might have to buy it via Steam. I didnt really want to, but I went to 4 stores(2 GameStops, BestBuy and Walmart) and none of them have NBA 2k12. It is the same price, I just didnt want use my card. I dont like using a card for Gas. But, I will buy it later tonight. I am about to go look over my gmoms to see if that controller is still in her computer room.
If I buy it via Steam, can I still use the mods.
I am going to try one more store tonight, if not I will buy it via Steam before I go to sleep
