quick question, for PC are you able to get accessories for your My Player like team arm sleeves and what not? I ask this knowing that there is no VC in the PC version so I'm just wondering

you can have arm sleeves and other accecories but they don't give you any attribute boosts as they do on xbox and ps3

Love 2k13 I just dont understand the inconsistencies with getting VC in certain gameplays like Blacktop. I haven't trying Association just yet but I've heard it happens there as well? Why is that? Outside of that not a big fan of having to pay for regular accessories that seems silly. For ones with stats boost? Sure, I'll gladly pay for that but 400VC for Elbow Pads or whatever it was? That's dumb.

Gameplay wise I'm happy with the upgrades, especially those cheesy defenders like in 2k12 could almost tell where you were passing the ball and the speed cheese of the big guys.

Outside of that I really have no gripes with the game, stacking some VC up before diving into MyPlayer and will come back with opinions on that (my favorite game mode).

This game is incredible.

That's all that really needs to be said.

I'm not much of a nitpicker, and so far I don't have any major gripes. By far the greatest basketball game ever created.

Much the same as last year in terms of performance. Major frame rate drops, wonky controller (360 controller for windows), etc, etc. It's a port...but you'd think that this many years in they would just do the work before release instead of fixing the same things every year.

And My Career is still hopelessly handicapped by bad initial play style choices with low ratings outside of the focus. Really the only logical thing to do if you want even a remotely well rounded player in the first 2-3 seasons is to pick Athletic so you can focus on skills. But you are basically an inside only player who cannot make a jumper beyond 5-6 feet even in shootaround. And on anything but Pro you are going to be stuck grinding out under 100 (most times well under) skill point games.

Im now 20 games in and still trying to get my passing and strength up to 60, from 40-something, even though I'm a 6'7 230lb SF. I mean D Rose is like 70. Trying to play close to the basket is hysterical at 50 strength. And Ive given up on trying to get to something realistic, in the 70's.

I dont know, whatever. Same thing, different year. I guess I'm waiting for the patch/es and a tool to hack in some realistic ratings.

And Association isn't very appealing with my Bulls starting Rose. If you bench him until after the all-star break for some realism, Taj wont resign because he gets pissed off about that. Although he is "undecided" to begin with, which is another continuation of stupid from previous years.

There is always a player that I want/need to reign and if memory serves, I never cant despite how happy I try to make them.

This game has had a phenomenal base to work from. Now they need to focus on the small things. And if that actually means charging $60, then so be it.

So after a number of games of My Career, I'm finding myself more and more frustrated and disappointed in this game.

1. The bumping/suction contact is in the game. It's most noticeable when you have a play ran for you that you need to run cross court around a couple of screens. First thing is you try to stay on the line to utilize the screens as much as possible, however, your defender basically stands close to the line as well and whenever you get remotely close to him, there is a contact animation that slows you almost to a stop, so you can never lose him. If you even have a little run in front of him and try to sprint, they can basically back pedal as fast as you can sprint forward which results in that same contact animation bringing you to a halt. Now before you start telling me to use the off ball maneuvers (which I do and they don't work very well), I signed up for a basketball game, not Mortal Kombat. I'd rather not have to press Left, Right, Half circle down, press B and hold X just to make a jump shot. This game is becoming less like a basketball game and more like Dragon's Lair. Press LT, then when the animation is almost played out, press B then hold Right. The game is just not fun if I can't move around. I really think 2K overlooks this all the time now because nobody is playing with Player-lock and My Career. The testing for those modes is horrible and needs improvement.

2. The AI is terrible. My PG teammates (different teams, different players) would rather drive in and be contested by three players on their layup than kick it out to me for a 20ft jump shot even when I'm shooting 80% from the floor. It's like the game is programmed to force a player to shoot the ball if they're within 12ft of the rim. Where is the drive and kick gameplay? That's my favorite! I hate losing a game because they're just too stupid to feed the hot hand. Why don't the players take advantage of mismatches either? A PG being guarded by a center means two things: One, the PG probably has a speed advantage and can get to the hoop. Two, there is probably a smaller defender on my center, so why not post him up? Still can't program that in right, 2K?

3. Same My Career bugs as older versions of 2K. Hello, 2K? Do you even try this game out before you release it? What's up with the play vision issues? What's with my 6'3" PG being subbed in at PF? Is it because I got 8 rebounds that one game? It still shouldn't matter. That's dumb.

4. I don't really care how pretty it is, if I press down on my gamepad, I expect my player to move down on the screen, not turn around, move a little left in a circle then start running backwards down the screen. If I wanted to watch a pretty game of basketball, I'd order NBA League Pass. I want to play a basketball video game, so why are we sacrificing control for appearance? It's not worth it. It hasn't been worth it for the past 4 years. I feel like my player has a ball and chain attached to each angle and I have to fight the controls just to get him to do what I want more than I can even focus on what's happening in the game.

5. Ghosts in the machine are still here. Despite turning off defense assist and turning the contest shot to manual, my player will still contest shots if the game thinks it will look pretty. Thanks for that foul, 2K!! It was so worth it to see the animation!! Not really though. Good grief! Again, if I wanted to watch a game of basketball, I would rather than attempt to play one.

We need total control over our players. That means responsive controls, intuitive controls. I press hard right, my player should NOT dilly dally and should turn right around and start running! If I'm not touching my controller, my player should just stand there like a deer in headlights. When I press the pass button, he should not take 3 seconds to pass the ball because it looks pretty. I just missed my assist because of that! But it was so worth it to see the animation!! Not really. If I press the jump button to leap for a rebound, he shouldn't take two gather steps and then jump 2 seconds later. I just missed the rebound. Thanks for that 2K!

It's sad. I really think 2K needs some competition so they'll put forth more effort into their next versions. Every year the new game comes out and everyone freaks out with praise,"Best sports game ever!!" Two weeks later everyone is complaining about this being broken and that needing a fix ASAP! We're all left hoping next year will be better and these flaws will be fixed, only to find out they're just hiding underneath another layer of some great announcing and animations.

I think it's time for my to retire from the game of basketball.

Very good points here. The answer is: they dont have any competition. So every year game is released with some ridiculous bugs and glitches, some of are new and some old, left untouched. I play since 2k10. They fix few things (this year fastbreak, bounce pass for example) but still leave some major issues. Then they can fix them for 2k14 and at the same time they will implement new ones. Some things in the game are just unbelievable. Also they dont listen, some stuff has not been fixed for years. This game has enormous potential but its toned down by devs. I feel its done on purpose.

At least im happy they made 2k13 playable and much better than 2k12 which I played only for two months because of how bad it was.

And PC version is a joke. I just hope we can have 2k14 next year. Yet still there will be same hype before the release and then bugs and glitches thread is spammed after a week

This game is a massive step up from 2k12 in my eyes and it got so much deeper offensively and defensively. The controls are very well-thought and intuitive. Waiting for some cool mods.

I'm loving this game but it's just that there's one HUGE problem for me:

Whenever i finish the first game of MyCAREER when i press on "Quit" the game crashes to the desktop and it keeps crashing whenever i finish the game. Anyone experienced it? If so how did you fix it?

No crashes here man... Try to use default on Video Settings and try to benchmark it.

Game impressions : this is the first time in my 2K gaming experience that i can play real ball i mean, just sticking to the fundamentals and stuff.


1 question where can i find my mycareer save file? i cannot find it in my roaming folder 2k sports folder.

first off let me say that i am very proud of myself for making a scary choice to go into my computer and manually install a new power supply & graphics card into my computer myself..someone like me who is scared to even open a computer up, i successfully made the operation a success....wow, at first nothing turned on, made me scared to death...i saved so much money doing it myself man..but ANYWAYSSss

NOW, i dont have my PC controls yet, but i purchased 2k13 anyways just to see if my computer graphics card would hold up and look good..So im here watching the computer play each other, and as i sit here watching, im amazed at how smooth the players move, how smooth the GRAPHICS LOOK, how lovely the sound is....im finally home. The PC looks like everything i thought it would look like. Wow man, im gonna purchase 2k12 as well because i have so much unfinished business with that game. Now i have to learn how to bring MODS into my computer.....im so happy to be apart of the PC family...ive missed out on so many years of playing on consoles

cant believe how amazing the PC looks man....im still learning what this thing can do. So many settings. Man i am so happy....not only am i happy about the game, but happy about how i build up my PC. My friends are gonna freak out

Well done shadio5 These days upgrading your PC manually is nowhere near as big a deal as it used to be, and I suspect the stigma of different drivers for individual 3d card models, certain motherboard and soundcard combos causing issues, etc from 10+ years ago still plays on the minds of enough people to make it still seem scary and more trouble than its worth.

The reality is though any PC now has a standard PCI-E slot you put a card into and it can be as simple as that. You mentioned a PSU upgrade and this may be needed in some instances - but you can get excellent performance from mid range cards which don't have special power requirements so it isn't always necessary - depends on your base build I guess. Other than that, most games these days are not CPU dependent so much and most systems come with a pretty decent CPU anyway, so in the vast majority of cases a 3D card upgrade is probably all you need.

As for 2K....Still waiting for 13 on Steam here :| Local shops can get it ordered in for me on PC but I'd much prefer a download.

lol yeah your so right Nza, but man when i opened up my computer, i gave it that "no way am i going in there" look...

but the game looks WAyyyyy better than the console games..now im gonna get the batman game & transformers game over on the PC.
