Re: When do you think the PC patch will hit?
I've said this time and time again. 2K's biggest mistake is trying to go with EVERY effin' DD out there. Just drop everyone, keep Steam, and just release 1 patch on Steam at the same time as consoles. Don't have to worry about DDs adding their own DRM, don't have to worry about separate approvals from every DD, don't have to worry about concurrent releases. Games that are just on Steam get patches out on a weekly basis. 2K could do the same, but oh no, every effin' DD and their children must have their own version of the game.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou

Re: When do you think the PC patch will hit?
I would say around March also, it's sad that PCers get the shaft always. We get the crumbs from consoles. I would rather pay $60.00 for a full game with the same level of support (patches) that the consoles get than $30.00 for a half game with hardly any support. Everyday, I grow more and more hatred toward consoles both for their dumbing down of games, eradicating Modders, lack of control with the game you own, and severely crippling PC gaming.

Re: When do you think the PC patch will hit?
PC gamers are the red-headed step child of sports gaming for sure. We dont ask for much just port the game and let the modders do the rest. How these companies dont feel that they cant make money on pc sports is beyond me. All the talk about pirating is silly. 360, ps3 and wii games are pirated just as much if not more...
To answer the OP's question, if past years have been any indication, 2k will release multiple patches on consoles and pc will get a culmination of all those patches MONTHS after the fact. Look for it no sooner than next year. March or April.Comment

Hey come on, you guys can't just say a month, we need to take this pool down to a day. I've got March 12th."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

We should bet on how many times Ronnie says "It's almost done, just has to get through some QA stuff".
I'm betting 7.Comment

Re: When do you think the PC patch will hit?
NBA2K10 - Mar 19
NBA2K11 - Feb 11
NBA2K12 - Mar 6
So yea, somewhere between February and March. It's a real shame how bad the support is for the PC version. Mods are all that keep the game alive on that platform. I generally wait till the Steam sales in December for I pick this up. It will be around $10 then.Comment

Re: When do you think the PC patch will hit?
I think it's quite an idea for a PC gamer to shift his NBA 2k buy-cycle into the future by around half a year.
Pros:
- No waiting forever for the patch
- lots of mods (obviously only as long as not *all* PC customers do this
)
- lots of time to get second and third opinions on the game
- (even more) reduced price
Cons:
- when viewing OS you might become jealous of all the people who are already having fun (maybe) with the new version
- finding less and less opponents for online play
I think I'll give it a try (off to 2k12...)Comment

I did this last year...I bought 2K12 for 360 on release, and got the PC version for $10 in April after the patch was out and all the best mods were out. I immediately traded in the 360 version as the PC version was so superior, got $30 on Amazon. So in all I spent $40 to have the game on 360 until April, and on PC the rest of the year.
This year I bought PC on release, and have had intermittent regrets ever since. On one hand, the PC version looks so much better than the console version and the early mod returns are pretty sweet. On the other hand, its missing lots of stuff the consoles have, the awesome global mods won't hit until later, and we know a patch won't come out until sometime after the new year.
I should have bought 360 and got PC later as I did last year. Next year I won't make the same mistake.Comment
