Out Of The Box This Is One Of The Best Played Games Ever!
As a lifetime gamer, there have only been very few sports games(post slider era) that I could say out of the box played great...this is one of them. One of the main things for me when it comes to sports games...especially pro games that I look for...is does the game replicate what I see on the field or the court or the diamond? Do the players play like their real life counterparts. 2k got it right this year. I just watched CPU-CPU Boston-Houston here at work and was smiling and replaying the whole time lol. I watched Romeo abuse Houston with the PNR and get to the rack at will against Beverly. I watched D12 beast in the paint...and James Harden...abomination!! The ball movement...defensive rotations..dude..."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Tags: None -

I agree man. Playing the computer is sooo engaging this year. When playing defense you have to be focused the whole time or you will get scored on. The A.I. is top notch. It has to be the best A.I. in sports videogame history. If anyone can tell me about a sports game with better a.i. I'd like to know, because I'm pretty sure there isn't.
I haven't touched a single slider, and I don't think i will. I mean maybe increase the fouls so i could get more free throws but even where it's at is pretty good.
2k basketball is where i envisioned they would be when i first fell in love with the 1st 2k way back when, the closest thing to playing real nba ball."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston Churchill -

Agreed. I've never paid $60 for a video game and have usually waited long enough for the NBA 2k games to come down to $20 or below. Point is, it was so worth it. This year's game is ... it's basically hard to believe how it's so good in so many ways. Especially love how the offensive AI was completely dumped and redone. And the graphics?! Just wow. Thanks 2k for not forgetting PC gamers!Comment

Agreed, this thing is amazing. I can't wait until they fix the lack of fouls, because other than that I'm ready to start my league, which is really for me the bread and butter every year. Even though I'm a my league guy, they've really gone over the top with all of the xtra stuff like My Park. The next gen graphics on PC, the way better AI, it's all superb.
I hope for 2k16 they implement even better AI strategy, so the CPU has better subsitution rotations and use for 6th man, and also so the CPU can switch defensive asignments, so if your guy is going off and the CPU has a defensive stopper like Igoudala they will switch him on you, just for the xtra realism and challenge.Comment

Re: Out Of The Box This Is One Of The Best Played Games Ever!
I've only played this years version once at a friends house. I'm rebuilding my PC to basically play this game, and a few of the other next gen games. By this time, sometime towards the end of the week i'll have my new graphics card installed, and hopefully it won't be bottle necked too bad from my CPU, I've got a Intel Core 2 Quad, and 8 gigs of ram, but I've got the old LGA 775 socket type and PCI Express one.
I bought the Radeon R9 270x, its not the best graphics card but for a guy on a budget, and when I crossfire it with another 270x, and when I have my new MOBO, CPU and Ram, It'll be able to handle just about any game, I think.
But to get back on topic, does putting it on simulation mode not get the fouls correct? Or is it still too few?Comment
