Need a laptop for only NBA 2K15
So recently, I've been thinking about repurchasing a Xbox One or PS4, but I'm unsure at the moment. I have no idea how gaming on PCs work, but it there any laptops that run less than $400 that can give me a smooth play with 2K15? Pretty much the only game I play, and would rather not buy a console just for this game.Tags: None -
Re: Need a laptop for only NBA 2K15
Just depends on the laptop, but I wouldn't think that most of the under 400 ones would play this game well -
Re: Need a laptop for only NBA 2K15
Quite out of luck here bro. Laptops <400$ won't be able to play this maxed out on native resolution.
I believe you're looking at 1000$ and more here...My YouTube Channel - Go and check it out ;)Comment

You're going to need a laptop with a discrete GPU to run this game at an acceptable framrate even on lowest settings. Typically you won't find anything like this for less than $600. If you want a laptop that will run on high settings then yes, you're looking at $1000 at least.
This is my laptop that I absolutely love--it can run the game perfectly fluid on medium settings (no antialiasing). When I picked it up on Newegg it was on sale for $530, and that was with a complimentary software package that included Rome II: Total War. Maybe it will be on sale again soon, or you can find it or something similar elsewhere.
I found the same computer on Amazon for under $600. Still not nearly as good of a deal as I picked it up for (about 2 weeks ago), but figured I'd mention it anyways.Comment

Re: Need a laptop for only NBA 2K15
Laptops are generally bad choices for gaming unless you have to have the mobility aspect. They cost more, can't really be upgraded, very often have poor cooling which means lower lifetime and/or overheating. And the display will be small and often poor quality.
At 400 dollars I wouldn't waste money on a laptop. Even just building a desktop PC you're not going to get good value at that price point. 500-600 dollars is about the minimum I'd recommend, and that's if you build it yourself (which is really easy, alternatively you can spend additional 50-80 dollars to get someone to build it for you). Not including a display.
Knowing what to get can be tough but there are a lot of places where you can get help on the web, such as http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme/ and you can find a lot of good stuff with google, like '500 dollar gaming pc'Comment

I know for me, I already needed a laptop for school so getting a $500 laptop I needed anyways made me feel like I spent nothing on my gaming conduit. Though, I'll certainly admit it's not the best gaming experience out there.
Long story short- OP only get a laptop if you're already in need of one.Comment

Thanks for the help guys. I found this for sale locally, but wasn't sure if it's worth it or not, since I have no idea what's good and what's not. And I have an iMac at the moment, so I do need a Laptop for classes, but if this computer can run games well, I can always sell this and get a Laptop elsewhere.
Here are the specs.

how much?
i just bought a beast with 870m talked the guy down to $950. it runs circles around nba2k15..shaq and earnie can't even get to the banter as soon as first lineup is shown game is loaded.
you can get asus or msi w something like 660m for $550-600. look into clevos too. but problem is you wont be running much within 2 years. if you're buying get something for 900-1000 (talk ppl down) and get at least 765m.. better yet 870mComment
