2K15 MyCareer accidentally overridden during windows reinstall..

I recently upgraded basically my whole rig except the Graphic Card and reinstalled Windows... I used Steam backup and restore, but after restoring the first time it was stuck in the screen that was loading to 2k server or something like that, like literally the first screen after seeing the logos of all the basketball teams..

So I just clicked B, didn't really see the message but so naturally (and now regrettably ) clicked A immediately and suddenly it is like starting a new game all over, letting me setup a new MyPlayer.. not only that but I can't seem to connect to the 2k Server anymore..

    Any suggestions/solutions?

Does the Steam backup actually backup the saved games? They exist under steamdir\userdata\ for NBA 2K and I thought the backup just did the SteamApps directory.

Wasn't 2K15 meant to use the Steam Cloud for this stuff?

Thanks for your reply. I actually used Steam Backup and Restore but I think I may have accidentally overridden my save file... anyway I guess I gotta live with that.. but now my problem is the game won't let me connect to server which is very annoying.. I own many other games and they all work.. Kinda annoying how I can't get to play the game properly..
