2-3 Days before Release normally, 2K just has to enable it.

If on Steam you should be able to download it by Sept 23 actually. But you can't play till midnight Sept 25

When we ordered last year, on the launch date it hit at 12 midnight for the east coast and 9pm here on the westcoast.

It says it releases at 25th Sep. for Australia. Last year, the game was released here Oct. 9, while the game was released in US at Oct. 7. Wondering if this means possible midnight release for AU

THIS is what I am hoping. But I am not sure if it's actually the case.


We are told we can pre-download but no one has confirmed the pre-download date for PC.


We know the PS4 date is 23rd. So one can only assume...... but it would be nice to have SOMEONE at 2K say "PC, same date". Something.....anything.....


I want to PLAY on the 25th. Not start a 50gb download on the 25th......


Without confirmation of the actual download date, I am mentally preparing for the worst.....

well as far as greenmangaming goes they told me we are getting our keys the 25th and we can play the 25th and 25th is the preload date like i said we about to find out this week. they also said we can play on the 25th so atleast that doesnt worry me too much

No we can't. Downloading 60GB takes like 2 days for me.
Preload normally starts 2-3 days before the actual release. GTA5/Witcher 3 did that way better.

Precisely. A 50gb game takes over a day to download. So to enjoy the benefit of pre-ordering and PLAYING ON THE 25TH, 2K needs to allow download PRIOR to the 25th (like they allow on console).


I heard we can pre-download. But I have not heard the actual date.


Ronnie and LD do not answer on Twitter when I ask. I've asked 20 odd times for the date confirmation.

Very frustrating.

I ordered from cdkeys and have contacted their support team about this. They have been very nice and we have had a professional dialog which started on the topic of the FIFA 16 release date and then NBA 2K16 release.

The support person told me that the version they have does not have the early release. I asked how that was possible since all pre-orders are stated to have it per 2K's support webpage. I also commented on the large install size and how digital distribution relies on pre-loading a game ahead of time, due to a variety of factors.

We'll see what happens. Not the end of the world in the grand scheme of things, but we should be able to get the keys ahead of time and then let platforms like Steam, GOG, Origin, etc tell us when the game unlocks.
