yeah so...just came back from work....last night 50k VC just vanished after playing mycareer.

i sent a support ticket to 2k and am waiting for reply on that one.

i finish work today and wanted to do a few rounds in mycareer...except, i keep crashing..if i start mycareer, crash. myteam- crash.

man wtf happened. was there a patch?

i noticed a small update and since then the game wont start.

I´ve played more than 100 hours of 2k16 and suddenly it crashes during a game in MyCareer. Well, no problem, let´s start the game again.

However, it just shows the loading screen for 1 second and crashes again.

WTF? It worked perfectly for so many hours, I´ve changed nothing, but somehow it doesn´t work anymore? Not during my holidays, please...

Today an update notification came up several times, so perhaps it´s another update that has gone wrong.

Hopefully they can fix that quickly.

Got the same problem, bought the game yesterday, already can't play because of that stupid update...

If you're crashing on the title screen after having booted the game between approximately 8AM and 10.30AM PST, you'll want to delete your SYNC.BIN file:

1. Go to your Steam directory (usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam)
2. Go to the userdata folder.
3. Go into the folder in there. It looks like a string of numbers, but it should be the only folder in there.
4. Go into the 370240 folder. These number strings tie to different games. 370240 is NBA 2K16. Don't go into any other folder.
5. Go into the "local" folder.
6. Delete SYNC.BIN.
7. Go into Steam, boot up 2K16, allow the game a few minutes to update, and it's good to go. If you get a “Please wait, retrieving data from 2K Sports Server” prompt, do NOT cancel it. Let it finish downloading the latest data.

He also added this:

Your saves should still be there. You can check the remote folder (next to the local folder where SYNC.BIN was located) and they'll still be there. You need to wait for the game to download the data updates again, and then you'll be able to access of your saves. If you're getting no description available, you should still be able to go into them once the data update has downloaded and their descriptions will be updated.

It is very important you wait for the data update to complete. I don't know exactly how many megabytes it is, but once it finishes downloading your saves should be accessible again.

Fix worked for me. Just had to redownload the deleted file from the 2K Server.

This is what I'm dealing with right now...After Ernie, Shaq and Kenny do their thing...and game is ready to launch, the screen goes black like normal then I'm back to the desktop!!!! what gives??
