    Failed to contact key server?

Anyone else getting this error message when trying to start the game?
I could play totally fine over the whole weekend but now it doesn't even let me start the game!

    Having the same problem....

Pre-ordered the game a week ago, installed it on the 16th, now I wanted to play and it seems like there are no keys left. Oh what a pleasure it is to be treated like **** again as a PC-User....

Yep same here. Messed up are not the words I really want to post.

        Same here...

First time I ever used cdkeys.com because I trusted the thread on this forum - got screwed because they sent a key that didn't work. They also couldn't tell me when they could send a legit key so I got a refund and just bought from steam.

30 hours of downloading later... failed to contact key server. Opened a support ticket with steam, they reply 12 hours later telling me to verify cache integrity. Over it. Got zero hype to play this now.

          There's a temporary fix guys.

          1. Go to your 2K17 steam directory, Steam/Steamapps/NBA2K17

          2. Create a text file called "steam_appid" with no quotation marks.

          3. Type 385760 in the text file and save it.

          4. Launch the game directly from the nba217.exe file within the directory, not via steam.

It works for me but the fact that this has happened is disgusting and inexcusable. It's immoral to advertise pre orders that allow players to play four days early when the game won't actually work. I'm not a lawyer but it seems dangerously close to fraud.
