Oh you would be aware if you had it, i have absolutely no commentary in most of my games (However im only playing play now games and never tried going into mygm for example)

It's a PC exclusive glitch. Commentary goes out after a few minutes and only returns at the start of a new quarter. Essentially game breaking

Ah, the worst part that after returning it disappears again 3-5 minutes later, i really love this game but as you said its game breaking. I hope 2k can come up with the fix soon cause its driving me insane.

I set in the main-menu both replay-options to "never". doesn't fix the commentary glitches

the only known way is in myGM mode...when the commentary disappears, go in pause menu and use for a few seconds the simcast-live function... then go back to the game and the commentary will be fixed....

Yeah but the problem is i wanna test out sliders and wait till the season starts to start mygm mode, yet i cant do that (well not while having fun).

Oh well i guess i will start one to mess around a bit till the season arrives.

I've been playing a ton of my player, and I've tried this method and the one that says turn player chatter down to zero. I can confirm that in my player mode, neither have worked. Commentary still goes out. I've tried to see if there was a pattern when the commentary dropped but it seems to be random.

Editing configs for "D3D_INTERNAL_THREADING_OPTIMIZATIONS = 0" could save commentary but in game sounds (dribble, ball going through hoop) will start disappearing instead

What is weird is that the commentary bug (and stuttering issues) were present in 2K15 too, but were fixed. Then in 2K16, they are both back.

maybe it's one of those features that 2k takes out one year, and then puts back the next year and calls it's 'new'.

sorry, couldn't resist.

i've been playing in fullscreen windowed for a couple of weeks now to cut down on stuttering, but the commentary still cuts out. most of the time it happens when they're talking about how many points a particular player has in the game.

one good thing about the commentary disappearing is, you get to notice the ambient arena sounds. they did a good job with arena sounds
