    Extreme performance problems

I'm currently trying to play 2K17 on my Lenovo ideapad Y700. However, I encounter terrible performance issues and I haven't even started a game yet. When I change video setting it says that I have less than 3 gb of dedicated video memory, which is absolute BS. anyone knows how to fix this?

I don't know that laptop specs, but are you sure your gpu isn't a 2gb? My gtx 970 is 4gb.

I run ultra fine, but I think people are going to have to realize those 860m cards aren't going to cut it for high settings anymore. Not sure what you have, just a lot of 860m users complaining on steam.

Edit. Your card is the 960 4gb version. So ignore the above.

On my laptop (also a Lenovo) the game defaulted to the integrated video for some reason. Open the NVidia control panel, add 2K17 if it isn't there, and manually switch it to the dedicated video card.

        The 860M also has 4GB.

I know my son has the 860m and it barely runs anything past medium or less to reach 60fps. I figured it was a 2gb.

Really? I run everything on high+. Except for 2K17 until it's better optimized. Which isn't strictly true, since I'm running at high on all settings, but I had to turn off special effects for now.

It's possible that your son's computer is bottle-necking somewhere other than the video card, unless you're talking strictly about games that really push the limits of modern tech.
