is the pc version worth getting ?

i was just wondering with the pc verison worth getting ? I have yet to buy the 2k18 i normally play on xbox one but seems alot of not to happy with it on there and my fav roster makers seems to be jumping ship to pc.

I have decent enough pc and think it will run fine on it. But was wondering if it fine and gotten all the bugs fixes and updates that the console verison has gotten.

if you play online, no. If you don't care about it than its good. Mods.

Edit - Clarification, I don't know about 2K18, but this is how its been in the past for the 2K series.

It kind of ruins the immersion when you can never win a jumpball or the opposing team never calls a timeout. Those two glitches have ruined 2K18 Myleague for PC. I went back to playing 2K17.

When you say online is a nogo, do you mean that noone plays online with PC, or that it's just crap due to the way people act? (I've seen a lot of that sort of talk on different boards).

It's currently on sale in Steam, but the reviews are so bad I just can't pull the trigger.

I have played my park games on PC and it's a smooth experience. You just have to be on at the right time to get some games in. There are some cheaters/hackers online. You have 7'3 players running like they are point guards. I've only run into these bums rarely. So far....

The modding community is in full swing. You have one guy adding missing tattoos on players without a use of a body scam. Big headed players are being adjusted to have a realistic head sizes. I hated playing with Detroit because of Drummonds huge head.

You want to know if it's worth getting....just go onto YouTube and watch NBA 2K18 PC Mods....you'll see for yourself how good it looks.

                  Def worth getting for mods.

The game is literally up to date all season.
New hairstyles, tarts, courts, within days / hours of things happening in the real
                  NBA.

I own the PS4 pro version also and I would just say the console version is better for HDR lighting effects, which really bring the courts to life.

PC version is way better than consoles for the customization aspect alone. Courts, Jerseys, Cyberfaces, etc... really adds realism to the game.

Interested... Is there some great rosters for this season? How about classic rosters? College? Other rosters? I'm really thinking about getting this from Steam Winter sale

if your pc is strong enough "DO IT !" I gave up on this version on console and moved to pc. it's on sale still on Amazon for 39.99.

Re: is the pc version worth getting ?

I just moved from PC to PS4. To be honest, there's a lot of talented modders in the PC community. If your focus is on visuals, play on PC: you're gonna find so many cyberfaces, updated portraits, better jerseys, courts with real life sponsors, real TV scoreboards and even sound mods.

However, compared to PS4, you're never gonna find any good rosters/draft classes with accurate attributes, tendencies, signatures and badges. The best rosters are bluejaybrandon's and the DNA roster. The first one is a better version of the original 2K roster. The other is basically the original 2K roster with assigned portraits and cyberfaces but there's not really a roster that has the features that I mentioned above. Draft classes? That's where it's the poorest. On PS4 you got draft classes from 2018 up to 2021 with over 40-50 real players with accurate attributes and everything else. On PC? You got outdated draft classes. Maybe the DNA draft class is the best one cause 3 or 4 players have modded cyberfaces and portraits.

Besides, you're not gonna find any good college roster. Matter fact, there's not even a college roster. There's one in the making with all visuals that are being worked on, but I don't even know when it's gonna drop. On PS4? You got the choice between Infamous and SkillazKilla's accurate NCAA rosters.

That's it, man. If gameplay and a proper MyLeague experience is your thing, stay on PS4. If visuals are your thing, stick to PC. Your choice.

Yeah... it's a big downside, gameplay-wise... and in this regard, the PC version has a very DIY approach, in that you have to do all of the modifications, in one way or another... personally, i've been enjoying that process a lot though. Very rewarding
