Hidden custom team limit?

Has anyone else experienced problems with adding custom teams (either as expansions or rebrands) after a certain number?

It seems like the PC/Steam version has a limit of 4 custom teams (any combination of expansion/rebrands) in a MyLeague file before it throws up the "There was a problem getting the team design. Please try again." error every time I try to exceed that limit.

Yes, that problem exists since a few years. Additionally when you hit that "limit", you are unable to create new local save files for rosters or draft classes.


A workaround is to start up a myleague online and download team designs there (as part of a rebrand of an existing team). I don't know why but in MLO the downloads always work. Then upload that same team design to 2kshare. In your offline league now download the team design you just uploaded. Same here, I don't know why, but you can always download your own team designs.

Same here, I don't know why, but you can always download your own team designs.

For me though, the same limit still applies, all of the designs I've tried to download are my own.

Mhm, have you tried adding an expansion team with one of the precreated designs by 2k and then rebranded it afterwards with one of your uploaded team designs?

I got that to work once, but I couldn't save any changes to uniforms/courts. Since then, I cannot add any created expansion teams at all, even in a new ML file.

So I'm really not sure what the problem is.

Strange, that always worked for me, as then you don't have to edit anything as you just use the precreated designs by 2k. Sorry, cannot help you then :/
