Re: Live 06 movie clip from E3
The hands are the same where the fingers are stiff and in that position like it was formed from holding hte ball to much. Muscles are nice but they like to put that joint on the skinny side. He isn't that skinny. That's more like Tayshaun Prince skinny. I will way it looks good. I hope they also have better facial animations too cause he should be at least chewing gum or something. Looks a little too zombified for me. Blinking and stuff like that. It's hot though. Looks crisp and clear. How long has MS been working on the XBOX 360? That may be one reason why EA wasn't pushing for the graphics. They wanted to hold back so that they could make a big leap like that. Seriously though, both games have their negatives which I will disregard for the simple fact that both games are in early stages. So ready for those videos. Does EA have a time this week to present their games? I know 2K does. I'll be close to the screen all weekend analyzing both. As much as these systems are and the inflation that is occuring in the states, I'm definitely being much wiser with my money. Believe That!!Comment

Re: Live 06 movie clip from E3
The fingers do look stiff though, but I PRAY that EA will fix that because I really need the models to actually palm the basketball and hold on to the rim. But these are the early stages, so all we can do is hope for the best. The game looks good so far though (even though it was CG).
I just need a basketball game that makes me feel like it's an actual NBA game. Forget all of the extra things like Franchise, Dunk Contest, and etc. All of those things are nice but I need the on-court things fixed for me to really enjoy the extras. I really need the crowd to be closer to the court and get involved as well because for a long time, when ever playing NBA Live, I've always felt like I'm playing a 10-man game in an empty gym. I want the crowd to get hype when the home team is doing their thing and show the away team no love when they're doing theirs.
But anyway, the clip looks great and I'm excited to see more. I hope that EA pushes themselves as far as possible to produce the best, all-around basketball game on the market.Comment

Overall it looks nice, but not great as what we might expect....we'll have to see I really hope they fix the player models I really do ..... Because I haven't played live since NBA Live 98Comment

Combine improved fast break AI with these graphics, and I may never leave the house again. Looks like EA Canada is making good use of Renderware.

Hey there Macca
The game desperately needs three things:
1. The absolutely most important = differences between the teams / styles. Every year LIVE is okay until about the 10th game when it hits everyone that Cleaveland and Detroit / Rip and LBJ play identical.
The game needs play sets (a la March Madness) and something that makes each game feel different.
2. Fast breaks. Real ones. 3 on 1's and teams pushing the ball.
3. No more cheating AI. No more "hey my PG had an open lane...how the f--- did the CPU PF just over take him".
Just get these right + add in some next gen graphics and the series would finally reach the level it should be at.
I mean, come on fella's...it's been out a decade now this series. Team styles, play books and fast breaks aint too much to expect.
All the other EA games have made this 'leap'...
Do that...and the game would be amazing.Comment

#'s 2 and 3 I agree with, but item #1..I'm so-so on.
ID spoiled us for individual team styles, but in Live's defense they had the individual play pretty solid. I'm playing a Heat/Cavs series right now, and to be honest Shaq plays tough inside and they go to him appropriately...When I double him, he usually kicks out...Wade is aggressive to the basket and takes his share of short-range shots...Damon and EJ consistently spot up for threes...Haslem gets garbage points and zero run in the offense.
I can't complain about that too much. The stats are usually fairly accurate, and when the game is over, I can usually count at least 2 or 3 times in the game where I've said "Damn, that was just like they do in real life "whether it be a sick, but not over-the-top Shaq dunk on Z, or a nasty floater in the lane by Wade.
Also, funny thing about the speed cheats...
I recently played some Live 04 with my father-in-law. The fast breaks were waaaaay better in 04. After a few minutes though, I realized I could break on nearly every defensive board, and pretty soon I was up on him by 20+ simply by firing the ball up-court for an easy oop or dunk on every possession. They need to get rid of the speed cheats, but with the current Live engine, no speed cheats = transition cheese. They should take a page from VC here.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Agreed on Shaq bro. Definitely got the power guys right.
I guess play sets are the thing needed to seperate "Rip from LBJ"...so that we could see someone like Rip go behind screens etc...catch and shoot (something no one in LIVE 05 does) and LBJ get iso's or post up plays.
Your right that ID04 spoiled us...but with some of the guys from there now working on NBA 2K6 for T2 and with EA having brought play sets into March Madness finally...maybe there's hopeComment
