Has it been confirmed there *will* be two versions of LIVE 06?

Those screens and video etc at IGN / Gamespot / EA's official site...look absolutely nothing like the brief glimpses we saw around the time of E3 and the XBox360 launch.

In fact, the screens etc released this week basically look like NBA Live 04/ 05 with a bit of polish. The game just looks like 05 with a few new gimmicks added, ie "superstar" moves.

EA's official LIVE site has PC / PS2 / Xbox screens...but no mention at all of XBox360.

The talk around E3 also was that LIVE on Xbox 360 was being built from the 'ground up'...ie, skating / crap player models etc all gone.

A completely new engine.

You all saw the Ray Allen vid + the brief Seattle / Detroit stuff.

The official website says nothing now though.

Has a specific for XB360 version actually been officially confirmed?

Yes it will be a launch title.

You'll notice EA isnt advertising Madden 360 right now either. Obviously their first focus is on the current-gen titles. They come out first, and will be the bulk of their business this year. They dont want to overshadow those.

BTW what I got to see at E3 of Live 360 was the most impressive title I saw overall. It was fantastic.

The current LIVE engine is beyond saving IMO. It just has way too many flaws.

The reports on the XB360 version though...and the new engine...are really encouraging.

Personally, I am done with the old LIVE...but i'd definitely give the new engine a chance.

Should be an interesting few months. I guess we will get bombarded with LIVE06 and 2K6 stuff around sept / oct as always...

But if there's much better versions on XB360 coming soon after...I wonder how many people here will remain patient and wait it out?

I'll wait it out because I cant take the pro games anymore. I dont even play them. College bball 2k5 is the only one that gets my attention at this point.

EA will just port over the same ole games for xbox 360 for year one. EA would only bust out the new engine for Sony ps3. They are waiting for next year. The whole EA isn't showing its hand is BS. They have not shown one gameplay vid on anything.

I remember reading that the Madden and Live engines were rebuilt for the X Box 360. Nobody is waiting for the PS3..the X BOX 360 is coming out sooner. I don't think EA's hiding anything, it's just better business to wait. Why show 360 media when you stll have to release an X Box, PS2,PC version 2 months before?

EA has already confirmed that there are building a whole new engine for the 360 version. they have shown gameplay vids of there next-gen games. NBA Live 06 will probably not even come out on the PS3, they will probably wait for the 07.
