I usually buy nba 2k and maybe rent nba live......but not because of some fanboy mess.....but because i like the feel of the game....Live has a different feel....they way you move the player and everything....they are two different games....but id be the first one to bash 2k for sumthin i dont like and id do the same thing to Live.......i just say wat i see, unlike a lotta these cats, im not goin act one way and then another way depending on what game we're talkin about


Live's graphics suck......we all know that, except Live fanboys are still in denial.....2k has stiff animations, they got better, but its not as smooth....nba 2k4 was garbage......blah blah blah


but this fanboy mess bugs me.......2k fans can bash Live, but when Live fans bash 2k fans, all of a sudden, its a whole major war.....Live comes out wit an all star weekend, and all of a sudden, 2k fans dont want an all star weekend .....lol....crazy how people act over their favorite games

I will put it this way, i was live fan on ps2 but i bought a 2k games for the first time LAST YEAR and i was sold, it totally makes live seem like a saturday morning cartoon version of the NBA. only 2K comes very close to actually making feel like you are controlling a real nba game as seen on tv, also it made me realized i wasted my money all those previous years supporting Live.

btw Wiz, 2K dont need a ALLSTAR WEEKEND that mode is worthless and is all hype that once you play it for 2 days it dies. that move by EA to waste dev time on that mode rather then gameplay/graphics proves they sell their Lives now based on EXTRAS not the actual Live.

The all star weekend is a part of an NBA game.....you want a game that feels like ur playin NBA ball.....the All Star weekend is a part of NBA basketball.....it should be in the game.....atleast by next gen(obviously not 2k6 for next gen)....

you say the all star weekend is a waste and you would get sick of it real quick....you can get sick of streetball mode in NBA 2k too......but i dont want them to take that way, because once in a while, i'll actually play streetball, and run a 3 on 3......its about options....anything can get boring after a while, but the fact is, having an All Star weekend, means, that you can play it for a while when the game comes out, then get bored with it later on, then weeks later, play it again, online or wit some friends, then get bored.....or wateva


but the difference wit Live and 2k, is wit Live, you can do that.....with NBA 2k, you cant.....BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE AN ALL STAR WEEKEND

i guess the demographic I associate most with and tend to gravitate towards, are the minority here, like other places. in that regard, my views are probably skewed a bit. In a big debate over these two titles, both of which have been battling for years, I shouldn't be so critical. Emotionally overload over preview reviews is not the way i wanted to start the year. I didnt mean for it to sound like I was emotional attached, but it came out that way.

May we all enjoy either/both titles of our choosing

FYI, ima 2k fan....i dont even buy Live, i rent it at the most...to clear that up, cuz me bein so un biased, unlike a lot, seems to make people think ima Live fan

....I'm a 2K fanboy. But I honestly have a liking towards NBA Live....

This is the problem with these boards: you've forgotten what a "fanboy" is. Its natural, every derogatory term eventually has its meaning skewed and becomes overused. Fanboy used to mean someone whose posts were so meaningless it was like spam and you could bet on the over/under time before they would be banned. Now people either think it means they have a preference or they just plain throw it around.

My Point? Fanboy is a whole other class of videogame fan, and one that doesnt exist on OS due to suberb MODs. Lets keep that in mind next time you guys type "fanboy" 15 times in your post

Note: Blackwiz, you're comments that "oh if this was 2k gettin the higher score blah blah blah" are true on 2ksports boards where the preference is obvious and true fanboys abound, but on OS there is a reason we have two pretty separate communities for the games. The reviews were trash, its no different from ID getting horrible reviews every year because they didnt take the time to experience the game. BTW ID was the consensus favorite with OS being a dominantly xbox board, not the 2k series.

I've loved and played basketball all my life. Highschool and College and what I'm trying to understand is when did 2K game become a SIM?

Is it because of the gameplay is prefered over Live that makes it a SIM?

I haven't seen a SIM basketball game yet. So, maybe I missed something or didn't see the SIM aspect that this game allegedly has written all over it. I'm gonna go with the basketball game but to be honest over the years i haven't seen a PURE SIM game released. But then again I could say that about all sports game.
