You have to admit, Live is going to be what it is...probably a little too fast-paced out of the box, may need some slider tweaks, cartoony graphics, a few weird animations may still be left in there...but then there is the other side to this game.
Sweet animations, the PS2 version this year looks like it could be for the Xbox (which is good news for how the Xbox may improve), I like the announcing duo of Alberts and Kerr, and we can probably expect a great dynasty mode, as well as many options, such as multi-user seasons, season length adjustment, etc. And, not to mention, fast-breaks greatly improved.
The only thing missing from putting this game over the top, IMO, is the little things. While the announcing and atmosphere are good, they weren't great last year. Man, if they would just add more cutscenes of the players and coaches showing emotion, new cutceses for injuries and for players after making a big shot, this game would really improve as far as immersion. What about something between quarters other than just the same old "press x to start second quarter?" Why not some halftime or post-period highlights like in NHL 06? Anything would help. Throw us some kinda bone here. And why not make it up to xbox users for not having an old copy of live on the disk by putting the fisrt Live or March Madness to grace Xbox on the disk?
