Skating?

OK, ive been playing Live since 95 and what I'd like to know is what is skating? If its that thing that happens when im in the paint and i suddenly slide when Im getting dunked on, then ok, I know what skating is. But if that is what we are talking about, how can we improve the interior defense so that doesnt happen?

I mean, when I attack the rim like that against the CPU, 9 times out of 10, my opponent doesnt budge and my shot is altered. So this poor defense thing thats going on can be stopped somehow, cant it?

Player models not picking up their feet when running. They seem to glide or skate across the court rather than run.

I don't notice it or should I say it doens't affect me but people will point this out every year as if they're revealing to the world that the sky is blue.

Yeah it's never bothered me at all, I actually love the fluid animation in Live, the 10 man mo cap is pretty nifty. Different strokes I guess.
