How do you change the set plays?

in the console version (PS2 at least)

i'd like to play around with the set plays in the game to familiarize myself. they're completely new to me (been playin Live for years)

Changing the offensive play in the TEAM STRATEGY menu doesn't seem to work anymore.

WOuld like to change the CPU's plays too. How do you do that?

    TIA

I don't quite understand what you mean? You can go to settiings and playbooks and change them there. You can also switch sides and do the same for the cpu. Check out playmakers sliders thread for all teams playsets.

It doesnt work in my PS2 version like it used to in past Lives. Before i go to the OFFENSIVE PLAYBOOK and just press left or right to change the 4 plays listed. now i cant seem to change the 4 set plays listed (pick and roll, pick and pop, iso, and postup) i try to press all the buttons possible but i cant change them.

Is there something wrong in what i'm doing?

I also try to change the offensive play in the TEAM STRATEGY in both mine and the CPU's plays but i dont see any change.

      Help me please

Oh ok you have to scroll down in playbooks screen to the next 4 plays, there are 8 plays that you can call now by double tapping like March madness does. So the top 4 can't be changed, its the bottom 4 that you change. Fyi just like march madness you can click the r stick and see where your pg should start the play off on the court. Hope that helps. Note that the above are for the xbox but it should be the same on ps2. Let me know

Would be a big step if you´d even know the plays , because the diagram on PS2 is 100% worthless as it´s not animated and does only show the start-positions and nothing more. I mean, that´s just disgusting .......
So newbies in terms of basketball are basically stuck with very few plays, and i´m playing organized ball since 12 years + following ball on all levels and still have a lot of trouble to figure them out, am now playing my 5th game that i´m tanking just to try to learn a´n adequate set of plays for different playing styles/teams .......

The EA strategy is to get you to purchase the $16-$18 game guide which discusses each play. I was reading it in the store when I purchased the game.

Until enough EA game guides are sold you will find no instructions on the EA site or anywhere else. The manual has been so poor in the past (the madden is a joke) that I did not buy it. I hope sites like this one, lay out the strategies in detail for everybody to avoid being caught in the sub-par game guide trap.

                  In other words...the game really cost $49 + $18 = $67 +tax
