Player models are still off upper bodies are unbalanced with lower body. Animations are bad as well.

haha. funny joke. take a look at the gary payton pic. anybody can see that it has way more detailed bodymodels. but again: that doesnt mean every player looks exactly like the real life counterpart in 2k6. some faces in nba 2k6 are off, but the models are way more detailed. thats just from an unbiased 3d programming viewpoint. duncan DOES look very good on live06 but the body and the muscles dont have nearly the detail of nba 2k6s graphics engine. you can see that they work a lot with texturing an lighting to compensate for that. but the sweating looks little bit better than in 2k6 i think...

When the players are in action the animations look terrible.

i dunno about you guys buy i didn't see skating like in the other old vids, plus they still have at least a month or so to go gold and it looks like this, the player models look more realistic IMO in live than in 2k6 b/c b-players are bigger in 2k6 plus in live you can feel the atmosphere when watching the vid, and in 2k6 you can't feel that it looked like they were skating too on the floor, the only thing that matters is how it plays b/c right now it looks good and the players controlling it are stupid and we want to see good players that make the game look good when executing plays (plus the poly count may be better in 2k6 but look at the crowd compared to live, and presentation and the movement in the net too as well, plus the sweat looks more lifelike in live than in 2k6 b/c in 2k6 they sweat and it looks like they took a cup of water and splashed it on themselves)

I was very impressed by the video released on IGN (last week?...)

The thing that has really caught my eye is how the lighting works and the realism of the atmospheric perspective. The textures of everything were beautiful without the ability to describe it otherwise. Graphically it was dynamite

I'm hoping that the skating that was evident in some of that video is alleviated once the game hits the market and that some of the "cheap" elements of gameplay get addressed as well

Overall I am very impressed and similarly optimistic

            Have fun.............

PS: Just watched the Spurs video. The only comment I have is that the animation does get choppy at times, I would guess in the transitions between animations. I'm wondering if it is more evident because once the actual animation takes hold, those core animations are quite nice and so we are noticing the transitionary "gaps", or whatever you want to call it to greater effect, or if it is just part of the game that is unfinished as yet?

The overall effect is still quite nice, though -- too bad it was filmed off-screen

            What I think I think:
            • Y'know, I've never played less NBA 2K than I did with NBA 2K12
            • Sports VG titles were REALLY disappointing in 2011-12
            • Thank Heaven for ME3 and Arkham City -- saved my winter
