Having said that, anyone who's played the current gen Live (I personally play on PC), and has incorporated Playmakers Sliders, not to mention offensive and defensive playbooks for each team, will tell you that this game, unequivocally, emulates the NBA better than any other Live to date, plain and simple!! To top it off, we now have the ability to save these playbooks for each team for both sides of the court, sparing the hassle of making these changes prior to each game.
On the PC, we managed to edit the database to save ONLY the offensive playsets. We had some difficulty figuring out how to save the defensive playbook. With the defensive sets in place on the 360, this is certainly better. Teams will now give you different looks on the defensive end by cycling through their "Team specific" sets. Nothing like coming down the court to be suddenly confronted by an unexpected or aggressive defensive scheme. IMO, this is the side of Live that most haven't witnessed! I can honestly say it's without doubt on par with Nba2k6 with these adjustments in regards to how it represents the NBA game. Then again, I can only speak for the current generation game.
The fault we see is people playing the game with untweaked, wrong or minor slider adjustments out the box and expecting to witness a sim-like game. Out the box, I suspect EA purposely allows for a "more free flowing game" with an arcadish tilt to cater to their "bread and butter" crowd so to speak.
My thing is this. If the gameplay (lack of features not my primary concern) has vastly remained the same or improved slightly, coupled with outstanding graphics, I don't see reason why everyone on this board is not jubilated about this! I'm also waiting to hear from Playmaker and others who have realized the sim apects of this game. I have a hunch that he's/they're busy studying this game in detail, hence the silence. I'm also suspecting this is the case for most. I will wait the week to see how the reviews pan out. ( I have no choice as I expect mine next week )
On a side note, has anyone managed to play any 360 game on a computer crt or lcd monitor? Your thoughts on quality?
Thanks for all the updates everyone!!
