Am I the only one who thinks this game is tight? - Operation Sports Forums

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know OS now has an official Discord that you can join right now. We’ve kicked around Discords for individual games in the past, but it felt like the right time to make it more of an official thing.

Steve and I have wanted to get this going for a bit because we obviously still hear from y’all who are unhappy with some stuff on the forums, plus when there are forum outages we still want to have a place for everyone to hang. My overarching goal for the longer term is to have both Discord and the forums ultimately work together. There are some logistical issues with the vBulletin forums that don’t allow things to sync right with Discord so there will be a little maneuvering as we try to get mods and forum members any proper roles/tags they need on the Discord, but we can work through that stuff easily enough as people join.

Our general goal is to give people more options to interact with OS community members, whether that’s Discord, the forums, this newsletter, or improved apps. If people want to stick more to the forums, that’s cool. If people want to stick more to the Discord, that’s also cool. In my perfect world, we do a lot of BSing and day-to-day chatting on the Discord about games and sports, and then more of the “in-depth” discussions or hefty things like long slider breakdowns or analysis of gameplay end up on the forums so that can act as a sort of “best of” area for anything OS community related. That said, you all will ultimately shape how the ecosystem shakes out, I just want to give you spaces you like so you can have a good time with other folks in the community.

The same general rules will apply on the Discord as they do on the forums, and we’ve brought most of the forum categories to the Discord as well so there should not be too much confusion as you navigate around.

With the Operation Sports and Discord announcement now out there, it’s also worth mentioning our OS premium newsletter, which quietly launched a couple of weeks ago. Built off the Not Just Another Roster Update newsletter, it offers a mix of retrospectives, guides, interviews and deeper dives into the sports gaming world—covering both current and classic titles.

You have to press start and then go to the xbox live option.

DO NOT JUST USE THE DIRECTIONAL PAD XBOX LIVE OPTION!! It just brings you to the lobby!

The graphics are nice, but the I'm not impressed by the gameplay and I hate the camera views. This is coming from a fan of LIVE.

i like this game fine, it needed more work tho to be sure. for those who also picked up 2k6, give a comparision if possible. i am no ea/2k fanboy either way so i just want to know you guys opinion on which is the better game.

im the biggest live fan in the world. i love live and march madness for xbox. i also love madden for xbox.

with that said.... LIVE & MADDEN ARE HORRIBLE BEYOND WORDS FOR 360!!

my friend got both games with his xbox 360, and ill say again, we BOTH LOVE the xbox version of live and madden, but the 360 versions are SO DISGUSTINGLY terrible that he took them back the first day to exchange for call of duty 2 & tiger woods. which are both pretty good.

but live has a looong way to go. ill be playing the xbox version for the next couple of seasons i assume

Well for ranked games it's on all-star with speed set to 65, and fatigue is on but only at 15.

And it's no where near as smooth as 2k is only!!! When I play 2k I actually forget I'm online because it's that smooth, with Live..........it's not laggy BUT I get reminders that I'm playing online.

Unranked games are better you can edit almost all sliders and difficulty.

So.......it's not not that bad............i guess.

Anyways back to go play some 2k j/k

I enjoy what both games bring.

There is no comparison this year........2k6 kills live.....on the 360 it does....not on the Xbox though.......but on the 360 2k6 is the best sports game on that system currently hands down...

i liked the xbox version better, the 360 version is the worst game of basketball ive ever played, nba 2k6 is hands down the best b-ball game out there.

Im going to take it back tomorrow. I tried to give it a fair try and played it for a few hours but I just can't get past the game play. The Graphics are tight but the game play and movement of the players are just terrible. The players movement IMO looks un-natural. I also have NBA2k6 and Madden. Madden is OK and I'll keep it and NBA 2K6 is top notch and the best BB game by far. Not even close. I had some guys over the house last night and none of them liked Live either. Its going back to EBX tomorrow. I hope I get a good price.

This game is MUCH better on the XBOX, the 360 Version is missing way too many things to be acceptable. I have been playing NBA 2K6 for the 360 and I think it's a much better product.
