Did EA design Live 360 for Player Lock?

I don't know if anyone else has played this way yet but it appears that EA might have actually designed this game to play better with the Player Lock feature. I'm not sure why but after messing around all weekend I decided to give the Player Lock feature a shot and the game became a much smoother. The camera distractions seemed to be toned down better using the Player Lock Feature.

I could actually keep the CPU from fast breaking much better this way because my AI players would actually seem to respond better on their own defensively. I've never played with Player Lock ON with previous any Live versions but this may actually be the best way to play the first 360 version. I'm going to play more of the game this way but I can actually enjoy some of the cameras like Brodcast a little better with Player Lock ON.

In fact if you take control of the PG and run your team and excute by calling plays on both offense and defense the game becomes a thing of beauty. I was always puzzled as to why EA put in such a fantastic camera view like Broadcast because it was pretty much unplayable until I went to Player Lock. I just maxed out the Height up to 10 and it plays much better if I don't control any other player. I think if anyone still has this game they should atleast give this try it might actually allow you to enjoy the game much more. I hated to give up control of all my players at first but now it really makes you get your shooter in the right places. I don't even have to force Dirk Nowitzki to shoot a deep three if I call a play for him beyond the arc and get him the ball he will look to score on his own and his ratings come into play much more this way.

imo, ea has always done an excellent job with this feature in all their b-ball games.

I think I'll use this feature for my LIVE 06 360 games...and play a regular season using NBA 2K6 360.

I like this game...but there's just way, way too many flaws.

I've tried not controlling the defenders nearest the ball on D and that helps a bit...so player lock may be the way to go.

You're right about the broadcast cam. It would be great...if it worked. It simply doesn't work for 5 on 5 ball.

I think the review here of Madden 360 sums up LIVE 360 also..."a great tech demo". Ie, incomplete.

I've already decided to go that route after playing more games this way for the first time in the Live series. I actually feel the game becomes better using this feature. I just run my offense staying in control of the PG's and let guy's like Dirk and Stackhouse do their own thing.

On Broadcast camera using player lock the post game looks incredible watching your C's and PF's defend and play low post defense on their. I almost jumped through the ceiling last night watching Shaq execute a Drop Step dunk on my AI Teammate Erick Dampier. It was sick and made this style of play the direction I"m now going to play.

EA screwed up on the camera's for some 5/5 play but once you give Player Lock a chance you will barely miss the standard control of all 5 guy's. I love how the defense in this mode is much better because your only focusing on your man and your AI defenders if you call smart plays like Zones from time to time or double teams do a better job defensively for reason then standard play.
