What makes this game stick out?

These pictures describe a few things of what makes this game stick out to you. The player models, other than the long arms and stiff fingers, are really well done. It's very easy to distinguish between guys when they're on the court.

Another thing, which is one of the main things to me, is the courts/arenas. They are so well done, and I just love playing a season, and actually see the different venues. Every one is something different, and I love that. That's part of the NBA, going to a different city, playing at their home court. I love that this game has nailed the majority of them, even the lighting.

The player specifics are another thing that makes this game just great. Seeing the Sonics run the fast break, and have Ridnour kick it out to Allen on the wing for a 3, and the guy actually shot's like Allen. It just immerses you into the action seeing things like that. Seeing Steve Nash dribble around for a while until he finds Shawn Marion for that quick release 3... definately one of the nicest animations in the game. Jermaine Oneal fading from the post with his patented "J", a thing of beauty.

Just small things that add up to a whole lot more. It's things that you really wouldn't notice, unless you played this game, and seen these things a few times. You notice small things, that make you stop and think of how amazing it is to pick up a controller, and be in Madison Square Garden. Or to run the break and kick it out to Marion who stops and pops.

PM's sliders and Playsets make this game that much better, so thanks to you Playmakers.

What are some of the things that make you enjoy this game?

Agree totally on all those points.

Adding a few more...I love that this game actually has SPACING.

I mainly have been using the Knicks and I love that I can actually penetrate with Marbury and, when the defense collapses, I can actually 'kick ot out' to guys.

I've had times where I've been able to penetrate...kick it out to a guy like David Lee and have a second or two to actually think "do i take the J or attack the hoop"..even get my feet set and take the J.

You see that all the time in the NBA...but i've never seen it in a video game before.

You can spin the ball around the perimeter and look for the free man...actual spacing and open J's...very nice.

In 2K and other games...including LIVE on all previous versions, the defense recovers "miracoulsy" all the time. Ie, with a 'speed cheat' so that even a beaten defense still gets a hand in your face.

That's something else that I forgot. Definately a great point. The spacing is absolutely great. Even for the AI. There are times in a close battle, where I'm guarding the guy on the wing, and go down to help in the paint, and the AI drives in and kicks it out to the wide open man... and I get that "Oh crap" feeling in my stomach, because I know that I blew my defensive assignment. That is a HUGE part of the NBA, and I'm glad there is a game out there that recognizes this.

Re: What makes this game stick out?

There's definetly alot of things I enjoy about the game. My favorite is starting to be how guy's go to the free throw line. I love some of the stuff EA added for certain players. I forgot who it was but they had a player actually blowing into his hands before he attempted the free throws that was a nice little touch. There are alot of things that were left out but hopefully next year with the inclusion of franshise, all-star weekend and more customizable camera's I think this game is going to be off the charts on the 360. As for now I'm starting to get my money out of it more often. I have used playmakers ideas and tweaked some of his sliders to my preference and the game has become much better since when I purchased it at launch.

On a final note if anyone wants to see the beauty of this game fire it up on broadcast camera increase the camera height and zoom in a few clicks then select the player lock feature and play a few games. That camera is brilliant but it only performs well taking control of one player all game. Playmakers convinced me to give it a shot and I haven't stopped playing that way 18 games later into my season.

I agree with everyone on this topic!! U really really have to get into this game to appreciate what EA is trying to accomplish, and that's giving us a Sim. for the first time in the Nba Live Series!!! Yes! the game have issues but it does'nt kill the game overall, especially now with Playmakers Sliders ( Outstanding job Playmakers U deserve the praise ) I guarantee U will have the best Nba Live experience ever!

Once again WTF, and Court_Vison, and others have covered everything about the game that sticks out to them I like also, but I will like to add these two and they are playing the game and being amazed to see the Cpu AI setting up plays and executing the plays on the Fly and making big shots with the Crowd going Crazy or when U or the Cpu is Losing and the Crowd is so quiet! U can hear a pin drop in the Arena!!

The other is the game makes me feel like I'm actually on the floor playing a game, or I'm at home looking at a Nba game on my 52'' HDTV!! with the help of great commentating from Marv Albert & Steve Kerr and Surround Sounds of the Arenas and Crowd frenzy atmospheres, all help Nba Live360 feel like a Sim. and it got me already looking towards a Great game in 2k7! But for now I'm satisfied with Nba Live 360!! Again thanks goes to Playmakers & others who helped makes this game a Fun Sim. and a better Nba Live experience! 444 !!
