Should I get Live 360?

I have and enjoy Live for the regualr Xbox now. It took some time but with the right sliders this game can be great (except for the cpu unrealistic ORB). So, i just want to ask those who liked the XBOX version if moving to the 360 version is worth it. I keep reading how great 2k6 is but i like live. I know that in the 360 version you can finally save human and cpu plays, strategy, etc. but is that the only real upgrade?

Really, it's up to you. There's a lot of impressions here.

One thing I will say is that this game plays more like LIVE 05 than LIVE 06 Xbox.

So...ask yourself if you liked LIVE 05? (which was pretty good, but had no fast breaks and the play sets were broken)

This game can be summarised as LIVE 05 + fast breaks + play sets that work + next gen graphics (much, much, much better than any previous LIVE) + next gen menus (coaching / plays) and next gen atmosphere / sound.

I'm really enjoying it...and I've always been a bit of a LIVE critic

I love 06 and still play it for my franchise fix on the PS2. Live 06 for the 360 is solid but I miss some stuff they left out like Super-Stars and their unique skills that seperated them from average players.

The 360 version has to tweaked and then you must find a camera angle you can live with for gameplay. It's going to frustrate you initially and might take up to 5 games before you start enjoying it for what it is. Just modify your sliders, find a playable camera for liking and mess around with the CPU Playbooks before you start a season and it will play better than the DEFAULT setup out of the box.

I think once EA brushes up on the speed and camera's next year add a little emotion to the players this game is going to be awesome down the road. They have the base foundation intact now they just need to polish it up and make it complete.

I bought both 2k6 and Live 06. I played Live for about 4 hours and I literally havent put it back in since. Its just an unfinished game. Visually Live is great and I give it a slight edge over 2k6...but thats where I stop giving it props. I think animation wise its too choppy when youre on the court. Im just wasnt impressed with live outside of the visuals.

IMO if you want a game that you can run on demo mode so your friends go WOW and envy you. Get live. If you want a game that plays very well and is enjoyable online , and you can run franchise mode, then hands down get 2k6.

blackceasar, while I do value your opinion, did you try the game with Playmakers sliders and playbooks? If not, I'd suggest giving it a try. It's a whole new game afterwards. I'm as big of a 2K6 advocate as there is, but there is no denying, for me anyway, that Live 360 is a great game after some initial tweaks. I had the same impressions after playing the game for a few days, but after tweaking it, the game somehow grew on me.

and it just feels like basketball, nothing is scripted and the player lock option is great, 2 things that imo, 2k6 has improperly implemented in their game.

I'm not going to bash the game at all, I'll just give you my personal opinion and thats all, The game looks just amazing, like I said this is only my opnion, I think the gameplay is just terrible, I really did not enjoy the gameplay at all, the rest of the game is soild though, this is indeed one of the best looking video games around. To sum it up, It's like a 2006 Mercedes Mayback with a faulty Tranny, very good looking on the outside, but it doesn't drive well.

Playmaker thanks for the info. Just wanted to know which one you play now (live or live 360)? and why did you change from superstar live to all star live?

I play both games 360 Live and PS2 Live.

I enjoy both games and rotate from one game to the next. As for Level I play on All-Star because the CPU makes some crazy shots on Super Star level. I think on All-Star the players will play more normal. That's means a guy like Ryan Bowen isn't going to score 12-14 points as easy as he would on Super Star Level.

yeh im contemplating getting this today as well, ive already played the demo on XBL and i love it, im also tired of 2k6 so i want to know if theres alotta ppl online to play with, cuz i had march madness and NO ONE WAS ONLINE!
