    Higher Speed... Limiting the break

Hey guys, just a few minutes ago, I decided to go back to 90 speed, just to see what effect it had on gameplay. Man, did it ever. The game just played at a better pace for me, other than the teams wanted to run and gun. I was cleveland against Detroit, and the Pistons were running up and down the court. Other than that, the game was great.

Now, my question is... what can we do to limit this? I was calling plays, and my guys were running through the plays, instead of just walking through them. It wasn't as quickly still yet as I'd have hoped, but its still a very nice change of pace.

If I have to, I'll go through and edit each person, as long as it helps out in the long run. Any suggestions on how to limit the break? I have two controllers, so next game maybe I'll change over to the other team prior to tipoff and change the fast break settings to see if that has any effect on it.

What I've heard is that the higher the game speed u put it at, the more the CPU will run run and run some more.

Did you happen to notice whether or not the cpu would play better defense? I see way to much standing around and 'ole defense allowing cpu players to just drive to the basket.

Well, right now, my 360 is gone to the repair center. However, in my last 3-4 games with my sliders, my results have been really good. My last game was against the Jazz, and without any adjustments (Team adjustments), they played slow, methodical basketball.

I can't wait to get it back so I can experiment a little more. One thing that needs to be done to EVERYBODY in the game, is change their defensive awareness. Some of the guys are down in the teen's in their DA ratings. I think that would help out a whole heck of a lot. Getting everybody up to around 55-80 range.

Re: Higher Speed... Limiting the break

So last night I increased the speed, quickness, and defensive awareness for everyone on the Bulls by 10. Time to take the court against Memphis.

Yes the player do move a little bit better with regards to set plays and the number of wide open fast breaks decreased a little bit. The thing that has me concerned is that I didn't alter the speed ratings for the Grizzlies. I'm guessing if i did that that it'd be back to the same old CPU driving to the basket all day. I'll try again tonight.

The game is getting a little frustrating. I am disgusted by the rebounding which doesn't need to be rehashed, but the thing that annoys the crap out of me more than anything is the time that it takes for the defenders to match up. When they finally do matchup there are mismatches all over the place. This is also leads to way too many uncontested drives to the basket by the CPU. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Also, will decreasing the On Ball Physical Defense slider for the cpu make it easier to drive? I can never drive to the basket, even when I have the mismatch of a guard with quickness and speed ratings in the 80's against a slow center or pf.
