There are quite a few elements of Live this year that, after a few initial tweaks, that I am just absolutely loving. 2K6 is an awesome game, but I had my experience ruined this year due to a couple of things I saw. I'm not going to name those things, because chances are if you haven't seen them, then you're doing just fine.

Live plays a totally different game than 2K6 does. After PM's playbooks, etc... the game plays one heck of a great draw and kick game, which is a lot of what the NBA game is. The spacing is nearly perfect, which is one thing that absolutely stands out to me. The atmosphere/arena's make this game immersing for me.

But like I said... play what game you like, not what others like.
I agree with most of that. One thing LIVE 360 does well is show you new stuff each game.

Seriously, playing NBA 2K6 a lot...I feel like I know exactly what's going to happen now. 2K6 really is scripted...there's no other way of putting it.

2K6 is the better game...but only if you don't play it much, as stupid as that sounds. It's an awesome game for short periods. Playing it each night and very, very quickly you are seeing the same things again and again. There goes that SG around the screens...he's shooting it regardless...etc etc.

2K6 really needs to get rid of the scripting. I was playing the Clipps and they were beating me up badly. Then their back up SG, the euro guy, came in and took 8 "three balls" in one quarter. He missed 7...yet they kept running the same plays.

I got back in the game...but it felt very cheap.

Other nights the CPU runs the SG plays all game and the CPU hits them regardless of me having 3 defenders in it's face...

It's just a heavily scripted game. To his credit, Will was the first guy to really make mention of this...

And he, like me, has always been a VC guy.

They need to work on that. LIVE 360 isn't perfect either...but at least there's new things / unscripted things new each game.

I really hope BOTH games use the 360's extra memory / power to work on their AI for 2007.

I hope we don't just see "moving hair and sweat" for the remainder of the next gen basketball games...

Hey court vision I laughed while reading your post, not at u but because I agree with u. I feel there is some A.I built in that actually confuses the computer
Example: Peja left the Kings but while he was there he did his thing, now in comes Ron Ron and all of a sudden he does what Peja was doing, he no longer is Ron, he morphs into Peja. It's like the A.I recognizes the position and the plays that player runs but does not realize a sub has came in and it may not be time to run the ball through him.
Example 2: I brought Flip(Murray) over to the Cavs and I swear once Hughes left the game and Flip came in he did exactly what Hughes was doing, not only running the play but taking all the shots (this is when Lebron was on the bench). It's very unreal that your sub is going to play as your ghost while u sit the bench. N E 1 feel me on this

        EXACTLY right champ.

I don't want to say too much as this is a LIVE forum...

But I've been arguing for ages that NBA 2K NEEDS to allow us to edit it / be much more flexible / CONTROL ROSTERS for these very reasons.

As it is, if you play a Dynasty and Kobe gets traded by the CPU ...the Lakers will still run all their plays, even in the second season and onwards, for their SG.

That game needs to allow us to edit all the teams / edit the play books etc.

Out of the box, 2K6 is a better game than LIVE 06.

Yet here we have PlayMakers work and work...and LIVE 06 becomes the better game.

While 2K6 gets worse over time.

All they need to do is let us edit things better / be able to SWITCH CONTROLLERS.

Instead, you can't switch controllers because of the f-ing ridiculous "crib points".

Does anyone over 7 years of age even care about crib points in VC games?

Crib points! Thats why it's called "Crib Points" because only the young'ns wanna unlock that crap. I'll wait for the codes if I'm interested. I like the NBA store better for LIVE I'd rather unlock shoes and throwbacks, compared to posters and bobbleheads. I'm tring to play Live and only play 2k6 on line, Live still has some yuck moments but nothing I can see as far as A.I.

            That's intersting.....

I never knew the game wouldn't allow you adjust those things. I've played it with friends but didn't get involved with the rosters, playbooks and tendency stuff.

My buddies enjoy 2k6 for head to head and they just now started back playing Live after they put all my Global Edits on their memory cards. I might borrow 2k6 and take a look at the ratings and playbooks and see if there is way around some of the stuff mentioned. I'm sure there has to be something that can be adjusted to make guy's play close to themselves in the game.

Oh boy if you fix that in 2k6 I can only imagine the hits that thread will take.

You can do rating edits PM. They don't really work though in 2K6.

They key thing you CAN'T do is switch sides during a game...ie at tip off...and adjust defensive pressure + fast breaking where they are wrong for the CPU.

You also can't edit positions in 2K6...so, the CPU plays Steve Francis as a PG always.

The CPU sees that the Knicks have two PG's on the court and automatically subbs Francis out.

                Very frustrating.

You also CANNOT edit play books. It is NOT possible.

So...even though the Kings traded Peja, they still run catch and shoot plays all game for their SF as mentioned above.

VC's games are good...but not being able to edit / adjust key things really kills them.
