I played about 10 games over the last few days. Here are my impressions...
- Firstly, do NOT play ranked matches if you like to play real basketball.
About 8/10 players I took on, just did spin move after spin move for dunk after dunk. And this has nothing to do with being a bad defender, because in Live 360 the spin move is a joke. It gets through anything so you can just do it all game to get to the hoop.
Not only that, but they'd also do 5 spin moves on a fast break to stay ahead of the defense because the spin move linked to more spin moves is stupidly, faster than a regular sprint. Nice one EA.
- Bad sportsmanship and sore losers. I was up about 7 in the first quarter when my opponent playing as the Lakers has Kobe leave the game with an injury. So what does he do? Leave the game unfinished.
Also had 2 guys pausing the game on fast breaks for 2 seconds. Maybe they were getting a paused look at the defense and their offensive options, I don't know. But they paused it often on fast breaks.
- The huge LAG online makes it all unplayable anyway. No matter how fast your connection, you get so much lag that it's almost impossible to release a jumpshot because it's never often like watching a freeze frame animation, like the flickering lights at a night club. Lag, lag, lag.
I don't really like the game, but thought it was worth a shot online. But I am so disappointed.
Obviously the bad network code or whatever from EA is laughable, but I just can't get over the people online. How do they think cheesing is fun?
Man, online gaming (in almost every genre) is NOT the way of the future.
