Is there anyway to improve player movement?
I think this is lacking big time, has anyone tried to adjust any sliders or ratings to improve this?__________

Edit the players speed and quickness ratings ... Big improvement. -
Re: Is there anyway to improve player movement?
have u adjusted the playbooks. like the playbooks that playmakers posted.
the default plays are iso, 3, post etc. there is little to no player movement with those quick plays.
u need to swap the quickplays with the proper plays. that way u see the player movemtent duplicate the play.
i have no trouble with playermovement and i didnt really enhance most players speed and quickness although i am sure that will help.Comment

Re: Is there anyway to improve player movement?
Use Playmakers speed ratings boost for all players and then test it out on 75 speed. I prefer 50-60 because I'm not great defensively but they do move alot better than before. You could also go higher than Playmakers went and start off at 75-80 speed if you really want to see them move quicker. Play around with the game speed slider after your tweaks though because if everyone is at 80 speed ratings you don't want to play with the game play speed real high.Comment

With that being said the off the ball movement needs to be addressed out of the box for next year. This has been a issue with Live for a couple of years now. I know they focused on graphics and arenas this year but, for 07 this game should not require as many user edits. (Although I'm glad that this game can be customized extensively unlike 2k6)
If they improve the following aspects of the game I'll be very happy.
-Fix the game speed so off the ball movement is MUCH more fluid
-Assign each team it's own playbooks that the AI actually utilizes
-Bring back player primacy rating that was missing this year for some reason
-Add a TV style/broadcast camera angle similiar to NBA2K
-Improve the arena lighting
It's already been announced that EA will be showing off some kind of technology for Live that supposedly gives each player more life-like tendacies at E3.
I just hope they nail the things I listed also. Hopefully we will get some answers this week.Comment

Re: Is there anyway to improve player movement?
I see them running plays all the time now with PM's playbooks. As I mentioned in the ratings thread I believe I've seen Lebron, Kobe and Redd all posting up from the SF and SG posistions. PM has Odom bringing the ball up for the Lakers and Dirk launching 3's. His playbooks have added a nice touch to game play. I'm not sure how he got the cpu to run those plays but they do it much better than when EA had everything setup.Comment

So, I think playmaker's player edits does more for this game than the actual playbooks. Even after changing the playbooks perimeter players still come down the court and jack up early 3's, without any type of ball movement or off the ball movement.
Bottom line there is know excuse for them to have the same sluggish off the ball movement next year. Without PM's player edits no team can have any type of accurate off the ball movement needed to run playsets in this game.
On a side note, after going back to playing 2k6 after VC released the patch. There are two things gameplay wise I really miss about Live.
I realised that Live's court spacing is nearly perfect! It is definately the best spacing ever in any b-ball game to date. I think it is there player to court ratio that makes everything (spacing wise) in their game feel just right. For some reason in 2k I don't feel like I have the proper space to operate.
The fast breaks in Live is the other thing I miss. In Live, you actually see guys get out and fill the lanes on the wings. In 2k6 the players have that spool of fish thing going on when they are trying to get down the court. They don't flare out on the wings it seems. Instead the players kinda just run down the center of the court at times.
Neither game has guys spotting up for transition 3's though. Hopefully ssomeone gets that implemented in 07.Comment

How are you setting up the Plays?
Are you listing the Quick Plays as the first 3 plays for the CPU and the Play sets as the Bottom 3Plays?
If so that is not correct.
A Playbook should look like this for the CPU
Miami
Post Up
Sideline Traingle-4
Stagger-1
3 Point
Pick N Roll
Iso
If you have it flipped where all the QUICK PLAYS are on top that is incorrect.
GO down to 45-50 speed control the PG on defense don't switch then tell me if they don't run plays.
Also use the Press Camera View for one half so you can see the entire floor for testing purposes. If you stay in front of the PG trust me they will run the plays. I wouldn't mess with higher speeds until you can stay in front of them at the lower speeds first.
Make sure you don't touch the Fast Break Slider for the CPU and hopefully you are using the latest rosters I released with the new edits. If your using the older version that would explain your problem because the Offensive Awareness wasn't reduced enough with the earlier edits I made.

NEVER MIND I JUST READ THROUGH THIS THREAD AND APPARENTLY YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED WITH MY LATEST GLOBAL EDITS BECAUSE YOU RETURNED THE GAME A MONTH AGO. SO, THE REASON WHY YOUR NOT SEEING IT THEN IS BECAUSE THESE LATEST ROSTERS I JUST RELEASED WITHIN THE PAST WEEK. YOU WERE USING THE ORIGINAL BUILD NOT THE NEW BUILD.
Check it out with the new edits. Rent the game you'll be quite surprised how the CPU plays now.Last edited by Playmakers; 05-08-2006, 03:49 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD
