I Am Done With 2K6; What Does Live Offer

I have been playing NBA 2K2 for the last few weeks; THAT is how tired I am of 2K6. I still love the 2K series but I don't care for how easy it is to dunk/lay the ball up on 2K6. So I need something that will give me a change of pace.

    What does Live offer man?
I play with slider modifications; so at it's optimal level; what can Live do for me; someone who is looking for a basketball SIMULATION.

Can you still block jumpshots at will on this game man?
Cause I remember in 05 I had to manually go in and edit everyone's block rating even AFTER turning down the block sldiers.

    But talk to me........

Might want to hold on those Rosters.

I'm about to release my Legends rosters this weekend.

Just have to set up lineups and playbooks brush up on gear and my Legends Roster will be released. Alot of greeat school players will be available for season play in Live using that roster.

youre non stop work on the bball games is very much appreciated. you should look into working with them. but then again you may get confined to some crappy area and not be able to produce what you do. lol

All you have to do is adjust the sliders, i think its dunk in traffic or something. I had the same issue, but once you adjust your sliders, its like a whole new game.

Re: I Am Done With 2K6; What Does Live Offer

lives the better game on the ps2 IMO.
on the 360 its a different story.
but on the ps2. u will not be dissapointed with live after getting the right sliders mods and adjusting a couple of freestyle superstars.

my build of live was the opposite of 2k6 in regards to ease of layup/dunks etc. u go up soft on live and u will get smashed.
the gamepace is solid. players behave the way they should.
the control system is untuitive and more responsive than 2k6's.
on live06[ps2]. its near impossible to block j's. but if u go for a layup or dunk. u will get stuffed if its not a smart attempt. [or its not an athletic freak attempting it.]
so much so, that i found it easier taking mid range j's than driving the lane. thats never been the case in any ball game before.

Live is more fun but I don't think it's as good of a sim. It also has the dunk contest wich I keep wanting put in 2K6 instead of that stupid *** 24/7 crap. Hope it makes into the 360 verision of Live 07.

I won't lie. I never played Live on the PS2 or XBOX but I can definitely tell that Live has more in it that makes the game more interesting. I kind of wish i would have given it a go on the current gen cause I just can't get into the Live on the 360. I tried the different things but it just doesn't float well. I think it's because of my 2K playing. I do see potential for this upcoming installment.

Well if you are playing on PS2 then don't bother messing with LIVE. On the xbox 360 its a pretty good game, once you adjust sliders. But on the ps2 the graphics are very choppy and the gameplay is unrealistic. Just my opinions, though

You took. That was a game killer for me..Both teams havin double digits in blocks was nuts..Sliders did little..Editing helped though..

What truly sets player apart, is the fact that he doesn't have slider guy in his sig...Or brag about himself. & hes levels above the others with his calculations, work ethic, & his innate ability for accurate ratings is uncanny..Who else could make such an awful game play so well.. He goes well beyond tweaking the sliders..

wow. thats the opposite of what i think about the xbox/ps2 version compared to the 360 version.
in my experience. the xbox/ps2 version just requires slider tweaking and it plays a tough and top game of sim ball. the 360 version however is godawful out of the box and not only needs a serious slider tweaking. it requires u to globally edit and massivley change the player attributes to get even a half decent game of sim ball. and even then its lacking.
i recently purchased 2k6[360] and the difference in pace and cpu gameplay realism and tendencies is huge. it plays a great game of sim ball.
my only issue with 2k6[360] other than the graphical drop in quality is the control system is clunky and not as intuitive as live06.
if 2k6 had lives graphics, animations and controls. it would IMO be an almost perfect bball game.
