Best cpu dunkers using the legend's rosters

This is based on what I've seen playing with PM's Legends rosters.

These players were all computer controlled and my dunk slider or dunk frequency is set higher than PM's slider setting because I love the challenge vs the computer players when they are much more aggressive going for a dunk in traffic. They get way more slams on offensive rebounds instead of tip in's by increasing the dunk slider. I have it set to 75 for the computer players and you see them attempt more flashy dunks.

But the ratings are still what PM assigned each player.

1).Michael Jordan-As expected the guy will take off on you from almost anywhere and complete a dunk if you don't foul him.

2).Larry Nance-I've never seen the guy play in real life. But he's been mad crazy around the rim on offensive rebounds. This guy is long and thin when you see him in the game but don't be fooled. He will get an offensive rebound and power it back home.

3).Dominque Wilkins-I've yet to see him in the halfcourt game throw down a slam. But on the break he's a highlight waiting to happen. His dunks are all power types.

4).James Worthy-He's the best I've seen in the halfcourt sets at getting a dunk. He loves to do that hand on the rim animation after his dunks.

5).Shawn Kemp-He's kinda like Nance accept usually when I foul him he doesn't complete the dunk. His come mostly off the offensive boards.

Re: Best cpu dunkers using the legend's rosters

I've never gone higher than 50 on Dunk Frequency because I didn't want little PG's dunking like they were Jordan or somebody.

But I'll look into it and see if using a higher setting adds more excitement to the game. I wouldn't do that for the human player but the CPU might seem possible if I lower the Dunk percentage.

That means just because they attempt a dunk doesn't mean they will always make it if I lower the Dunk Percentage slider.

Maybe something like 75 for Dunk Frequency slider and 35 for Dunk Percentage slider. So if they don't have a high dunk rating they'll still miss a fair amount of attempts as opposed to a guy like Jordan who has a high dunk rating and he'll continue to make a high percentage of his attempts.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that slider adjustment and see how it performs.

Re: Best cpu dunkers using the legend's rosters

Hey man I just tried it for 2 quick games and I love it. But I went up to 65 and left Dunk Percentage at 40. At 75 they are more aggressive but then I noticed Hinrich tried to dunk too much so 60-65 seems just about right.

Jordan is totally sick going to basket if you don't foul him or slow him down. I even saw Tyson Chandler get an offensive rebound and instead of trying to lay it back up he gathered himself and dunked on Bob Lanier with one hand then drew the foul aswell.

It definetly makes the CPU more challenging but it's not arcadish or anything they just attempt to go up stronger and more aggressive.

Now I have to repost a few more slider changes and this game should be as good as it is going to get. The BIG's are way more punishing if you don't keep them off the boards now.

      Major props and thanks again......

Sounds like too much dunking to me though. Wouldnt that take away from the sim aspect?

I tried it out at 75 it was too much dunking. Then I lowered it to 65 and it played pretty good. It makes the highflyers like Jordan and Wilkins more aggressive once they get into the paint but it brings out dunks they would not normally do at a lower setting. They still attempt a fair amount of layups but they do get a few more dunk attempts.

You could leave it at 45 like I had it before they don't play as aggressive but this does help the PF's and C's really go back up strong for the CPU.

Remember this is only a change for the CPU not the human player. I'll play a few more games to see if I notice any small PG's trying to dunk but so far at 65 instead of 75 I haven't seen it. But then again Jason Terry is only 6'2 and he's had several dunks this post season which has shocked me.

I think i'll give it a whirl at 65. As long as pg's arent always dunking the ball then its cool.

It's pretty good I'm playing Phoenix right now and Amare is dunking in traffic instead of going up soft. I haven't seen Kevin Johnson attempt a dunk he's still doing layups.

Just make sure you glance over the Updated Sliders I posted and the Playbooks are matching up for the Legends Rosters. Some people had some confusion with it.

But overall it's not crazy or anything and it actually adds more exciting plays to the CPU in the half court game. I haven't gone through every team yet but most pf PG's I've seen so far still attempt more layups if they don't have a high dunk rating or jump rating.

Re: Best cpu dunkers using the legend's rosters

I matched up the rosters and playbooks with your new sliders and playmakers let me tell me you this game ain't perfect but it's pretty damn good in my book. I haven't even gone back to the regular rosters and players because these old school players add extra value to the game for me. I think those playbooks did come with the legends file because everything seemed correct to me and all I did was update the sliders to what you posted. But this game as I've stated many times before is a blast to play now. I'm getting different teams attacking in different ways.

For instance Utah will constantly hammer it low to Karl Malone. If you leave Stockton or Hornacek open on the permiter they won't hesitate to jack up an open jumper and those two guy's killed me from outside when ever I tried to double Malone. The big guy they have at center Mark Eaton had 4 block shots in the paint and he altered quite a few more when I tried to challenge him with Brad Daugherty.

As they say in the NBA during those commercials.

                  I love this game!

Re: Best cpu dunkers using the legend's rosters

Yeah I just went into the 4th qtr New York (Me) vs Phoenix.

I'm trailing 63-51 but Barkley got hurt after he collided with Larry Johnson down low on a layup attempt.

So far Walt Frazier has 21 points for me with 3 rebounds and 5 assist. I love playing with this guy.

Phoenix has 12 points and 10 boards from Barkley before he got hurt. Joe Johnson started getting hot after that he leads Phoenix with 18 points headed into the final qtr. Amare has faced double teams all game and he's just been kicking the ball back out. I had to start doubling him because he was tearing it up in the 1st qtr. He's got 7 points and 7 boards but's he's missed like 5 FT's so far.
