      Impressive, yes.

However, scrap all that & give me a halftime show with Scott Van Pelt and tons of replays of not only my game but simulated games around the league and they'd get a guaranteed sale from me.

Okay, just watched the video...and I'm sorry, it's cool and all, but who will really utilize it? I mean...can't you get the same exact thing with your computer by going to ESPN.com?

When I turn on my XBox, I'm turning it on to play a video game, not to browse the stories available on ESPN.com or to watch PTI. I have other ways of doing that.

Sorry...but this just doesn't do it for me. I'm with everyone else...give me in-game ESPN-like presentation. That's what we really want with this agreement between the two companies.

small note.. i saw a nba live video around e3 which showed in game popups while playing your dynasty or exhibition game. a popup with real world info.

something i really dont care about. i play games to get away and play my own fantasy world not to revert back to crappy nascar and whos the leader in points

Yeah, it's fluff, but it's damn cool to play your game, get the update on the bottom of the screen that something happened, and then open up the ESPN Motion and see the plays or highlights right there while you are playing.

I also agree with TJ. While it is a nice option to have, NONE of it enhances the actual video game of nba live. EA just seems so misdirected in how to incorporate the ESPN license in ways that the fans have been asking for. I thought the purpose of getting the ESPN license was to add ESPN presentation to the actual game, guess not.

Yep . . . I have my 360 right next to my computer. If I want to go to espn.com, i'll use the computer. If I want to play some NBA bball, i'll fire up my 360.

                    I won't use the 360 just to navigate espn.com.

The EA Sports / ESPN deal is obviously more of a cross promotional tool between the two companies. This type of thing is showing up in the games, not really ESPN "Presentation", but ESPN "Integeration." Meanwhile ESPN promotes EA Sports for example on NFL LIVE, where they use Madden.

yeah, this is just another heavyhanded attempt to pimp the EA and ESPN brands on people who likely are already consumers. they just don't get it. all its about is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. this doesn't enhance the gaming experience one bit.

I feel like my life now has been taken over by ESPN. TV, radio, PC, ESPN Mobile, magazine and now console. Love sports though. Nice feature, I'll give them that but I perfer actual game presentation. Dynasty ticker, half time show, post game show, plays of the week/month, breaking news, etc.

Oh, don't kid yourself into thinking that this is all EA's doing. I am SURE this is a 50/50 thing, between the brass at EA and at ESPN. I think the "Worldwide Leader" has as much to do with this type of integration, if not more.

In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if there was language in the contract signed between the two companies that mandated EA implement this sort of cross promotional device into it's games.

My guess is that the folks at ESPN saw how huge this video game thing was getting, saw it as an opportunity to reach an audience they weren't previously reaching or might've stopped reaching, and decided to try to do something that might get them back.

Thus...they end the relationship with 2K Games (probably because they weren't open to this sort of integration), and sign the deal with EA, probably with the stipulation that they MUST include ESPN content integration in future games.

Just my theory, based on my limited experience in media marketing. Take it for what it's worth...
