    sim intervention?? and more.

i hope this feature is back on next gen.
used it all the time on the xbox. i played a season where i controlled every team and sim intervened most games.
does anyone know if this is back?
    lets hope so.
lets also hope the game isnt poor like its rumored to be.
with 70+ attribute ratings i really hope the tendencies of the players etc are realistic. a lot of cases with nba live games, the attributes rarely affect a players performance and tendencies.
if this is fixed and players tendencies are correct and not position specific like live06[360]. i will be a happy chappy. i am sick of the nowitizkis and garnetts being afterthoughts by the A.I. unless they get the ball in the post.

    thoughts anyone?

    Re: sim intervention?? and more.

I posted about one preview of the game from nbaliveforums it seems as if the game was really getting a bad rep based off of videos that showed the game in early developement.

But here's another site that I found EA allowed to visit and play the game. The guy seems very happy just like Andrew from nbalive forums was about the game.

As for Garnett and Dirk taking outside shots check this picture out I found over at NBA.com

And here's some videos of the different signature shots that will be in the game.

From what I'm starting to see and read now it doesn't appear Live 07 is going to be the lame duck game everyone was making it out to be. I can't waite to see what you and playmakers are able to do with the game this year. It appears to me the game will be better and the videos just simply got everyone jumping the gun to soon.

That's alot of information that EA allegedly wasn't showing or speaking about......Top secret stuff I guess

I didn't read the review but for once I did checkout the videos and they look pretty sweet. Looks like they even improved on Shawn Marion's release even more this year. I thought they nailed it perfect last year but that video seems like they got the total package in for him this year.

I must say watching Garnett shoot a jumper from the top of the circle is the thing that most excited me. That means you'll now possibly see outside shooting big men take jumpers like they do in real life without me editing their ratings or switching their posistions on offense.

Pretty good information but I still must have the game in my hands to make a conclusion.

I usually don't get involved in the whole "which game is better thing" before release and I still won't. I kinda think that this will be one of those "fly under the radar" games this year that will actually be really good. I think 2K will be good too. I, like PM, will make the decision when I have the game in my hands.

            Re: sim intervention?? and more.

about the garnett top of the key J. how do we know thats the cpu taking the shot.
and the signature jumpshots are cool and all. but i think signature playing styles are far more important. just see last years game. signature js were there. but it would be a rarity to see the kgs, and boshs and brands etc use them as they would only score in the post mostly. even after the massive tweaks. all the tweaks did was make the CPU feed them the ball more. but as soon as they got it, back down backdown.... it was stupid.

if i lived in the states. i know what game i would be buying first.
2K7 looks like the absolute bomb.
a true nba sim with signature playing styles and tendencies.
i have been playing 2k6 for a bit lately and after getting over the initial control differences, it plays a much more realisitic game than live06[360]. i edited the players myself and tinkered with the tendencies and the brands and duncans are dominant and play the way they should.
now with 2k7's signature styles.......woooo. thats will only enhance the tendencies tenfold.
but unfortunatley. 2k games are ALWAYS delayed here in australia. so i have no choice but to get live.
i really hope its much better than rumoured, with realistic stats and player tendencies. to me thats the most important part of a bball game.
if they get that right. i will be happy, but really. 2k7... man.....that game looks amazing.

              also.
freestyle superstar is to me just an arcadey gimmick. when i had had xbox version of live06, i would hardly use them. i wish ea went the 2k route and just gave the players their own signature moves isntead of the freestyle gimmick.
and also. it better not be cheesy and all powerfull. i know andrew said they are not. but.....
its all about sim for me. i need my bball games to be the most realistic they can get.
i know i am getting that with 2k7. but i will probably have to wait months to get it..... so i am really hoping live07 will deliver for me this year. that or 2k7 actually gets a release at the right time.

You actually had to switch the positions and edit their ratings just to get them to kinda play realistic. Oh man Damn!!

                  yep. ie: the suns.
if u put marion at SF he dominates and plays just like marion bar the rebounding dominance. but then diaw will be PF and he simply wont get the ball. now diaw is a playmaker so u cant have him in a position where he will be a stiff. marions game is slashing and off the ball effectiveness so it was more important to me to have him at PF than diaw. but marion at PF. well. he would hardly get any touches on offense and when he did, It was only in post ups. nothing like marion plays. then diaw at SF would start launching js and looking to score too much. the tendencies in live06[360] were mainly position speciific.
                  it was really stupid.
                  they better have this fixed.

You have to edit ratings in all sports games IMO to get close to what you want to see. Every single sports games that has been released has had thread created about adjusting ratings not just Live 06.

As for the posistion changes that only applied to maybe 5 players at most. Dirk plays offense at SF in real life for the Mavs and defends the PF or C on defense that's what I did in the game. Boris Diaw is a multi posistion player in real life I assigned him to be a PG 1st and SF 2nd in the game. Samething for LeBron James.

But I don't think adjusting ratings is anything new for any game because they all need adjusted ratings. NCAA 06 needed QB's to have their ratings lowered, MLB 06 needed fielders and pitchers to have their ratings adjusted, guy's were adjusting tendenicies for NBA 2K6 to get the SG's from taking all the shots & too make the BIG's shoot jumpers in that game aswell. NFL 2K5 needed all QB's adjusted and still didn't help. So, Live 06 isn't the first game in history that needed ratings adjusted to play the way some of us want them to play.

I can also gurantee you with the release of both titles within a month after release there will be a thread about ratings.

Why because even though both titles are stating players will do this and players will do that after more hands on time with the games we'll start see certain players aren't doing what the developers said they would do and I gurantee you'll start seeing a ratings thread or a thread regarding tweaking player tendencies. I already know Live 07 will require it despite what the developers are saying. But it's no big deal because it's a video game and no game is going to be perfect.

Uh oh, Playmakers. Watch your back. You said something negative about the almighty, perfect game NFL 2K5 (a game I enjoyed BTW). You may get attacked b/c alot of people feel that game could do no wrong. LOL.

Seriously, I agree with what you said. Every game could use some tweaking for more realism.

Yeah the QB's just killed it for me man....No matter what I did with them or the DB's it just didn't work.

I was going to edit the fielders and pitchers in MLB 06 but atleast that game played good enough for me without changing the ratings even though it did need some serious tweaking for pitchers. But I just let it ride and enjoyed the game for what it was at default ratings. I Struck out 10+ times per game but oh well....:y4:

Yeah, you are right about that.

                          But man, that 2k7 demo...wow.

Wade drives the lane, Terry sometimes pulls up for the J. Dirk plays inside & outside. Shaq plays the post, and he even does those little passes around his hip, kick it out to Jwill, or Walker. Also...Walker during some games have taken a lot of 3 pointers. The only thing is I think he makes too many of them. But he takes a lot of 3 pointers just like in real life.

Yeah I've heard some great things about the demo for 2K's game. But I'm not a demo guy so I don't download them at all. I'll give both games a look this year and go from there once they are released.
