you can't adjust the fatigue slider during gameplay.

and i agree that slowing down the gameplay makes it much better. it feels like the players move a little too fast in the half court to me anyway with the speed set high.

what are your thoughts on the double team down low, do you feel its too much or realistic? playing with memphis i can't back down with gasol without the team collasping on me.

you mentioned fatigue effect, i haven't seen this slider. i've been having problems with subs not being subbed.
you have to edit fatigue in the global in the practice gym but cant do it inside a game. I'm going to try fatigue maxed out and see how it affects the game. The AI is better this year and you really have to work the ball around.

I can see their animations better and stay in front of my man better but they can beat beat me off the dribble better with speed set high. They also seem to move quicker running their offense with a higher speed but I think alot of people will struggle at first on defense.

So, what's your feelings and don't be shy.
I just set mine to 100 today, and I think the players move so much better on the court. First I tried 60 and then 75, which at 75 wasn't a bad thing, but then decided to bump up to 100. I'm enjoying the game more now by bumping up the speed.

I haven't tried to put the speed lower either to see how the game flows. I'll test that later on tonight and see what results I pull off.

This game could be really good with tweaks, my hands off to EA. I had given up on this game last night, I was getting aggravated with the default settings that kept on making me go back to 2K7. Now I can play 2 good basketball games for this fall.

Re: Speed Setting I need feedback

I played the Suns with speed at 100 and I had to tone it down. I tried again with the suns, 7min qtrs, fatigue maxed out, and set speed at 75 just to see what kind of game it would produce. I lost 68 to 67 all star setting. My bench had an average of 4 minutes of play with the exception of Udrih PG who didnt play(let cpu control all subbing). I think that this is fine given that we take our own time outs, we could sub out anyone not producing. And really it doesnt matter because most I presume will make thier own subs anyhow. I'm seeing a ot of players stepping out of bounds, but definately press box gives you a better perception of where you are. We have to account for foot-planting and momentum so you cant stop on a dime like last year. I dont see a boundary force field setting so I'm thinking EA is making us think before we drive wildly. I have seen some players in the open court move to the 3pt line and step out. I really dont know what to say about the low scores, we might just have to lower the simulated qtrs to 8 or 9 and level the statistical playing field if we cant get higher scores. I also didnt realize how much the cpu depends on the pro hop. Its extrememly difficult to guard against at high game speeds, so I lowered it in relation to the speed. 75 to 85 plays well, and doesnt affect the final scores so i guess its just preference. IMO pro hop and drop step along with your transition settings may be a big factor in scoring, unless we beef up our post D. Thats all I have for now, gotta feed my son and then i'll play a slow paced team with 8 min qtrs. Let me know if you need any settngs changed.

I think alot of people will see Live much better for what it is when they use the Press Box View and set the speed to 85.

Turn Auto Subs ON and Fatigue Effect at 75.

Set the Camera Height to 10 and Zoom at 3 and watch how the players move using that angle and speed.

I maxed out the fatigue but the cpu isnt subbing my players in till late of the first qtr at 8minutes. I subbed manually and the cpu puts new subs in too. especially when i take Duncan out. PM your right that camera setting is smooth. One thing I'm still trying to figure out is, the players have thier sig jumpers but the PF's and C's with low post moves kinda brings them into the same athletic class. I guess after adjusting dunk % and defense it will cure this. Duncan was flying over people (obviously un-duncan-like)and missing the (FSS) dunk. The good thing is though, we really dont have to use the FSS unless we want to and still keep that individuality.

Yeah I know because it seems like they are forcing you to play 12 minute qtr's this year. Anything less than 12 Minutes and the scores will be low and the sub's will be limited.

I'm not sure why those azz-holes at EA did this because 10 minutes is long enough for me. But on ten minutes my scores are like 83-77 and that's with speed at 85. I don't want to play the game like a track meet just to get over 100 points.....

Re: Speed Setting I need feedback

I used those options pm and it's really got me liking the game more than before. Everything sems to play much smoother those settings but I also read where you posted we can't score 100 points unless we play 12 minute quarters and that's not very good news. But settings really do help the game play for me.

                  Thanks!

LOL another fatigue issue, ...I'm joking (kinda).....I would play 10 minute quarters but fitting 7 min qtrs in is hard enough with the kids during the day. I havent simmed any dynasty so I will be pissed if the scores arent similar to mine, i'm guessing simulated qtrs should be set to about 8. i'm Averaging about 65 pts a game, OT was in the 80's. I havent even looked to see if we get shorter seasons yet. If thats the only problem, subbing, it really will be a fantastic game. Keep up the good work.

ive come up with a good formula to work with the high speeds.

all these are from the defualt number.
The game has to be on SuperStar for these settings to work right.
Game speed-I got it at 90(it gives the game speed and a fair amount of fastbreak..not too much defensive problems)
Camera- press box height maxed out and zoom 4 clicks back from the max setting.(this minimizes the jerk of the camera following the ball)

To counter act the more loose defense I maxed out help Defense but I got cpu double team effects at around 25. The sink or swim setting I got on cpu and user at 70 to allow the big men to do more moves.

On ball physical defense i got set to 45 cause on Superstar they try to wear your shorts if you leave it at 50 or raise it.

The shooting- cpu-long range at 30
                      cpu-mid range at 35
                      cpu-short range at 30
if you know basketball those close jumpers are harder than mid range
                      user long range default
                      user mid range 55
                      user short range default
I got the block shot ability all the way down to like 5..only the people who can block get blocks..you still get the occasional(once a game) where smush parker will smush the ball in your face.

thats all I got for now.
Your post might save me and LIVE...my gripe is with the cameras jerkyness...does your settings really help with the camera jerking??? I want to like this game cause 2K has become stale for me...but the camera is GIVING ME FITS!!!
