i've only played 1 game at 12 mins, but it doesn't seem that long. been playing NCAA at 9 min and that seems to take longer.

Yeah, you have so many stoppages in a football game. I play 7 min quarters in Madden and that takes a total of amout 40 minutes. I still can't do 12 minutes on any basketball game. I'd never get anything done. Plus, you can't shorten the season length in Dynasty mode. I am so used to playing all the games, now I actually have to sim a good number of games. Crazy. They sure have lost a lot of games already in my dynasty. (Atlanta Hawks) I guess that can be expected considering the team, but I have put together a nice squad. Hopefully, they can sim themselves into a well oiled machine. Anyway, I just realized that I have to put the sim minutes on 12. Our stats will be considerably lower because I play 8 minutes. But, maybe the 12 minutes sim will help out. I'll find out later.

Yeah man I did that already.

You were right the game is set up at DEFAULT to play 12 minutes. The speed and everything was balanced for 12 minute play.

But it takes way too long (IMO). I did see them sub and foul pretty realistic in the game. Which brings me to another point when I play less minutes there isn't enough fouls. I jacked up the foul sliders to 65 and still there wasn't that many fouls.

I don't want to go crazy at put everything at 100 just to get 20 FT's a game.....

This is not good news at all. I will be using the Wizzards and it's very important to me as far offensive production because the Wizzards are one of the highest scoring teams in the NBA. Are you sure scores can't get up in the 100's playing 8-10 minute quaters?

It wouldn't make sense to me if the Wizzards are near the bottom of the league in scoring in my franchise mode.

Well, looks like I'll be playing 11 or 12 minute quarters. With the dynasty only being 82 games (instead of other shortened options), I'll just play the big games and sim the rest. Using 12 minute quarters will take longer, but realism pays off in the end.

Well this is a gamekiller for me as I don't have the time (or the desire) to play 12 minute quarters. Good thing I was planning on getting 2k7 anyway.

I want to play all 82 but at 12 minutes a quarter NBA Live 08 will be out by the time I finish my first season.

I don't even have NBA Live 07 but how is this a gamekiller? It's unrealistic when you can get realistic stats with 8 minute quarters. EA shouldn't be given crap for giving their game a realistic pace.

It is great that the pace is realistic, but I don't have the time to play 12 min. quarters...sigh.

I understand if you don't have time to play. Alternatively, they could try to raise the pace if you play 8 or 10 minute quarters but there obviously comes a point where the game is too short to be realistic. If you're playing an 8 minute game, how can there be realistic shots, subs, or fouls?

I played my 2nd game in my dynasty. I have the Grizzlies vs. Bobcats. The game went into OT but at the end of regulation the score was 93 to 93, this was on 9 minute quarters.

to be honest..I am happy this may be the case, because i always play my single player games at 10 minutes or above. Usually, that is the only way I can compete in rebounds and minutes played. If I play any less...I have players like Ben Wallace averaging 8 RPG.

Can't wait to start my dynasty..i just hate that games come out and rosters are not set..(Wells to Rockets)

This is good news for me because I controll the Wizzards and they are a high scoring team. Maybe I'm guessing they meant if you leave everything at default and don't make changes it is programmed for 12 minutes of play. I don't know because I bumped up the speed after the first day and started playing 6 minutes. My scores were low no doubt because it was only 6 minutes but I was planning on using 8 minutes for franchise games.
