Re: Where are the reviews for this game?
Yes sir, sure did. Some people havent figured out yet that EA is probably wanting to get as many peoples money as they can first before they let the reviews come out. Not saying the reviews will be bad or good and not saying EA is making the sites put up certain scores. Its just that as long as the commericals are running and there is no potentially negative press about the game, its going to do well and get people excited about buying it. After people have it, and if reviews are bad or people find out they just think it stinks they cant get thier money back. I mean they can, but it wont be coming back out of EA's pockets...so no matter what you do with the game after EA got your money, EA is still going to have your money__________________________________________________ ____

Re: Where are the reviews for this game?
I'm rather happy there aren't any reviews because after last weeks debacle over at the 2K forums I would hate to see this forum crying and whinning over review scores. It was like someone committed a crew on the forums once those scores came out. I wish people would just calm down and not take these reviews personally over a game.
The free throws are too hard to make.
You have to hold the right thumbstick down to start the shot and push it up to release the shot. (That's how FT's are done in NBA Live. In NBA 2k7, you just release the stick, not push it up.) Shows how much they play.
After the reviewer got flamed for that statement, he went back and edited his review.
IGN gave 2k7 the Sports game of the year at E3, then rates it below NHL 2k7, NHL 07, and Madden '07. I can't speak for everyone, but that's why I was upset.Comment

Re: Where are the reviews for this game?
Some of you guys might have read my thread on the ign board, but if not, heres my thoughts on why we still have no review......
Its really quite simple if you think about it.. I got (and love) both games, so I don't wanna hear anything about being a fanboy.... EA is an "empire" when it comes to gaming, no question there... They rely on what I'll call the "EA Fanatics" to purchase their games, year after year, and the "fanatics" will do so. But, EA has to earn a profit from their games, and just relying on the "fanatics" purchases can only get them so far, as far as profits go. With the extra heated debate between 2K and Live (especially this year) its easy to see that 2K is making huge steps towards surpassing Live as the number one selling basketball game, if it hasn't already. Having said that, EA knows there are numerous problems with the game itself, that was made clear when EA fanboy Jon Robinson published his preview of the "90% completed" version.. He had nothing but negative things to say and even said he was preferring 2K at that time... Ouch. If I recall correctly, all Live 07 informatoin halted after that editorial was published, no videos, no blogs, nothing.
Now you can go way back and you'll see that EA has rarely allowed a review of Live to be published before the release date... As far as I'm concerned (and its only MY opinion) logically, EA doesnt want to take the chance of losing the consumers who may be on the fence about which game to get. Regardless of what people say, most people take into account the reviews found on various sites in regards to making the decision as to which game they will buy. I'm not saying EA is "paying anyone off".. Its possible, but not likely.. I do think that EA does mess around with advertising and possibly the idea of withholding information from the various sites, if they publish a review of the game, before EA wants. Every site wants to be the first to break the story on the next big game.
Having said all that, I think EA (through one way or the other) encourages these sites to delay a review, until the game has had an opportunity to gain a profit. Whether that be one or two weeks in anyones guess. The fact is, if a bad review is given before the release of the game, EA will certainly lose numerous consumers to 2K, especially with this years 2K getting very high review scores all across the board...It's all about the MONEY. After they have made a buck, they really couldn't care less about what the review score is, or how the consumers feel about the game. It's the same thing every year.Comment

That's funny because other than here at OS the scores have been 83 and 82 in which many posters were infuriated over. Did someone else recently come out and give the game a 100 like OS did lately and I missed it?Comment

Re: Where are the reviews for this game?
Trust me the reviews of Live won't be bad. Why? They are delayed because EA is making sure all the reviews are positive. I truly believe they threaten these sites that if the reviews are not positive then they will not give them copies of future games. You may say, well why don't the sites speak up about it. Because if they do, then they will lose the ability to get future releases and inside information from EA then no one will care to go to that site anymore. Say IGN ratted EA out, but Gamespot didn't. IGN loses all their privileges to anything EA, and Gamespot probably gains more privileges. Now if you want news on an EA game you never go to IGN, you go to Gamespot. That’s why none of these sites can do anything about it. The only possible way is for them to all come out against EA at the same time, but that will never happen because it would involve a lot of trust and inevitably one of the sites would stay put and screw the others over. Just my opinion. Not an EA *****(NHL 07 is sick), and not a 2K fanboy(MLB 2K6 is sickening). Just what I truly believe is fact because EA is definitely corrupt enough to do something like this.Comment

sounds like ur wrong about the reviews being positive....they just drew a 5 out of 10 from 1up.com....and 1up is not nice to 2k gamesComment

Re: Where are the reviews for this game?
That was funny because the guy spent about 5 minutes typing how EA paid everyone off to give the game a high score and so far out of 2 reviews one scored an 80% the other a 50%. I guess EA didn't have enough money to go around to everyone.
