Re: Ign and Gamepsot what's the hold up on the review?
Gamespot gave it a 6.5.
I wonder if these websites ever adjust the sliders? I highly doubt it by reading the reviews. This game is an 8 at least.
But hey, maybe the game sucked in the eyes of the reviewer. Everyone does have their own opinion I suppose.
My opinion is really the only one that matters to me though.Comment

Re: Ign and Gamepsot what's the hold up on the review?
Sliders help to make the game fun. I'm sure there are topics about the 2k sliders already too.
It's impossible dealing with the 2k fanboys. Go back to your own forum, that's why the two are separate.Comment

What in the hell are you talking about? That's why sliders are in every sports game. I have yet to play a sports game that was perfect out of the box. I have adjusted every game to make it better. That's why there are separate slider forums all over Operation Sports.

I can blame them for not upping the difficulty and reviewing the game, but they shouldn't have to review a game on it's sliders.Comment

Re: Ign and Gamepsot what's the hold up on the review?
Don't turn this thread into a 2k vs Live debate. You bought up 2k with that post, all the other guys were saying is that they review the games out of the box.

It's not a 2k vs. Live thing at all. There is a reason for the different forums though. The Live forums are for talking Live, and the 2k forums are for talking 2k. Imagine that.Comment

Then reviews are completely skewed if that's the case. I didn't know what levels the reviewers reviewed games on, and I didn't know they didn't tweak anything first. I really don't go by reviews anyway, which is obvious since I picked up Live before any were even out. But still, it would be nice to get a true review from one of these sites.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Ign and Gamepsot what's the hold up on the review?
IGN has responded:
"The review is coming. EA did not, despite repeated requests on our part, send us the game until after they shipped it to stores. That means we didn't get it into the office until it was already on store shelves. This is usually done when a company knows a game doesn't match up to the competition. Word was from people who played preview builds that the game didn't hold a candle to NBA 2K7.
Jon Miller, the guy who does our sports reviews on the 360 channel, is in Barcelona right now for X06 along with Doug. You don't want me reviewing the game, trust me. I'm not exactly a basketball game fanatic. The Playstation guys have offered to help out with this review and it is currently being worked on.
In short, the review will be up on Monday. It already would have been out if EA had sent the game over in advance before the X06 craziness began. Oh, and it wouldn't be in anybody's best interest to accept or offer money to withhold reviews, especially ours."Comment

Remember, a lot of gamers out there don't bother with sliders, for whatever reason.Comment
