    Question for 2K7 and Live 07 360 Owners

    Guys I ain't feeling 2K7 one bit. I disagree with the OS review as 2K7 IMHO took a couple of steps back this year or I give it a 3 sec violation. At best i'd give it an 8.0 score. The Gameplay may be tighter was so was last years.

    The huge step back this year is Animation, Graphics and Presentation. In 2K7 players will stop their animation pivot/turn as they are some type of pedestal then proceed with their animation. I've seen players taking the inbound pass facing the other basket, then when the ball is thrown they will pivot or turn on the invisible pedestal.

    Graphics took a step back this in player models even comparing them to last years game. The Arenas do look better than last years but that's about it. Some off the camera angles have more framerate issues than 2K6.

    Presentation is no where near last years game and that's not saying much.

    So with my dissapointment in 2K7 do you guys who have played both recommend Live 07 for the 360? For now i've gone back to 2K6 instead.

    I own both and I have to say I think you are a borderline agenda poster, the animations in 2k7 are a world apart from Live's, they are not even comparable. The graphics I'll give you, though not a big as a gap as many believe. Gameplay, PLEASE - if you have played both you would know that 2k7 destroys Live in gameplay, I wished it didn't, but the damn truth hurts!

      Live is for the single player.

      2k is for both single player and against live competition.

      2k feels like youre hoopin for real, Live feels like videogame basketball.

      2k button response is great, Live button response is very sluggish.

      But both are great games.

      Weird but true.

        I'm not going to comment anymore on NBA 2K7 on the Live boards.

        As for Live it's either a game you will love or hate plain and simple. Their is no in between because you can't use FSS moves like you want all game, you can't launch shots without setting your feet most of the game......Although you can but I'm not going to tell people the secret how to do it because then they won't shoot the way the game was intended to shoot from outside.

        I love the FSS dribbling as I have pretty much played around with it so much now I can pull off dribbling moves much better than before and once you do it there's no better feeling than seeing it help you blow by someone on the perimeter or use it to set up a good shot oustide.

        Anyways $5 is really all you need to try the game out for YOUSELF and see how plays. What I like you might not like and what some people don't like you might actually like so rent it and see.

            Not even close. 2K7 is superior to Live in most categories. I think you have lost your mind if you think the 2k series has gone backwards. It may be the best sports game ever. Everyone has there own preferences, but I can't think of a valid reason why 2k7 is worse than Live overall. Rent Live before you decide on it. I did and I can't play 2 full games of it without getting frustrated and turning off my system.

                  I'm not feelin 2K much either and I like Live better but that's me. Think I've been playin 2K for too long too,too easy. Closest so far was 110-70 closest in Live was 68-64,game I just played was 92-81 (closer than it looks too,put the quaters up from the other game) so I'm finding Live a lot more exciting.

                    Yeah I work on them in the Practice Gym for dribbling and shooting.

                    It's helps alot for me. It might get boring becuse your in the gym byself but it does help you see what moves you can and the combinations you string together.

                      Honestly, and this is coming from a person who played (Gamecube) 2k2, 2k3, Live 04, 05, 06, and now i got a 360 and i got 2k7 and live one day later.

                      2k7
                      After watching/playing a few games on Hall of Fame difficulty that game is great. Staight up the best b-ball game ever. My review = 8.7/10

                      Live 07
                      After playing with 2k7, Live had a whole lot to do in order to get the most playing time in my house. After reading so much negativety about Live I still had hope. Let me just put it this way: I haven't even finished 1Q(6min). I play in a mod press cam and really it gives me a headache as my eyes hurt. Shooting rainbow shots is just bad: very bad. Using Shaq 5 feet from the hoop and he is shooting the ball like the height of the backboard. A lot of the animation and linking between them and very awkward. I don't have an HDTV.
                      Here are my graphics ratings: 2k7 / Live 07 out of 10
                      Animation = 9 / 7
                      Player faces = 7 / 8 next-gen faces haven't lived up to my expectations yet
                      Skin texture = 8.5 / 9.5
                      Skin colors = 9 / 8
                      Jerseys = 8.5 / 9
                      Stadiums = 6 / 9
                      Details(crowd,courside,baseline,player personality) = 9.5 / 8

                        Thanks Ryan that's what I was looking for an unbiased non fanboy response. To a previous poster who said I had an agenda in creating this thread, please note. I repurchased NBA2K6/360 yesterday I bought NBA2K7/360 and I wanted an informed opinion regarding Live 07 cause I still ain't feeling it with 2K7.

                        I also stated that the gameplay in 2K7 is more refined/better than 2K6. With that said I stand behind my opinion that animations and transitions of animations are smoother in 2K6. The presentation and commentary are better in 2K6. Player faces are a little better in 2K6 as well.

                        All this is based on me comparing 2K6 vs 2K7 on the 360.

                          2K7 is all about the animations that's for sure. Nothing else makes me enjoy the game. I have to zoom out as far as possible so I can't see those horrible player faces all game.

                            The animations do look good until the animation(s) requires a transition. Then the animation breaks and looks stiff and robotic. I watched the pregame animations where all the players are huddled around the Coach.

                            I watched as Pat Riley's animation began as he walked to the bench. The animation included a robotic move as he pivoted as if he were on a swivel and walked back to the bench.

                            That's what i'm referring to when I say the animations are not as fluid as in 2K6. If the animations are not broken or in transition they do look good. I'm going to rent Live 07 today and see how it plays.

                              you've got to be kidding! scrutinizing the coaches pivot turn during the huddle...but the crab walking, dribbling, back to the basket, dunk thru people and backboards and barrel chested players in live is better?
