Does Live need to be scrapped similar to Triple Play Baseball?

I think its time to blow the whole thing up and start fresh. Live had a good run but it's obviously over in most people eyes.

Of course it does, but EA would tell you that they did start fresh in 06 on 360. Lies obviously, with so much gameplay, animation, bugs etc still there that have been there for over 5 years.

This situation is so much like Madden's imo. People didn't put pressure on them to develop a new engine in current gen, so the logical time to reboot the series was on the next gen consoles. They DID reboot the series - it's obviously not a port of the game. I guess the question is do they need to scrap it again.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I hope they scrap Madden and start over again while they're at it.

I personally don't feel they need to start from scratch, they need to get true B-ball people who really know the game. It's obvious the people working on the game do not have a clue as to how the game should be. I personally love the game, but I can admit I was expecting a lot more. As far as Madden 07 goes, I feel they just tried to pull one over on the consumer. They knew before release that the game was flawed.

They need to get quality people who won't settle for mediocore work, working on this game. I think word is finally getting out about EA and the shoddy work since next gen. You even have people on current gen complaining now, and it is being heard. If you look around some of these gaming sites, they are letting EA have it. FINALLY!!!! PEACE!!!!

I used to be loyal to Live but I have hated it for years, ever since it moved to the PS2 really. If it were to completely overhaul like Triple Play did, then I would at least try it out and maybe reconvert.

Yes... scrap everything, and start fresh in my opinion. What they have now is not worth $20 in my opinion.

out of the box it is. live like one the early posters said is made by a team of guys who don't know much about basketball. they imo probably have never played bball. you can tell by the way the players dribble, run, jump, etc. the game even with PM edits, playbooks and settings, is still a robotic interpretation of basketball. the thing about the game that bugs me is the way players shoot the ball. there are high arc on all shots, even ones a few feet from the basket. then there are AI bugs and glitches that make it hard to play as well. it reminds me of the movie AI done by Steven Spielberg. that movie was techno, slick, gray, robotic and bland. that's what this game is; it captures none of the spirit of a real NBA or (pickup game for that matter) basketball game. to be fair, with PM's edits it plays decently, though i won't lie; it won't get near as much playing time as 2K.

couldn't have said it better. i bought the ps2 and xbox (used) versions this weekend to see if they're as bad as the 360. both are more polished but are a big step down from 06, which i thought was on the verge of being the best LIVE ever (2000 pc still hold that crown). if only the development team would scratch and current gameplay code and use 2000's...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

yea and it's weak, and is just as limited as the last gen engine.

i just hope they don't go more arcade...ala maden "sonic boom" crap.

picked up madden yesterday and i must say with PM edits, i prefer Live as the better ea sports game released this year. with foot planting, not being able to run through people, etc. i do think though that the animation skips and what not are caused by this new physics engine. i think i they clean it up this should be a real good game. but with all the sliders aviable this game can really be made "simmed".
