I know I am in the 3% category (minority), but I like NBA Live. I just like the controls better. I like NBA 2K7 as well, but I find myself playing Live more. I think its because I can control the different moves better. When i want to do a lay-up, around the back pass, bounce pass, or Jordan esque dunk, I control it. It makes me feel like I created the highlight instead of waiting for a scripted animation. I just wish Live had better player emotions and interaction.

This is just my opinion....

I think it would be wise to rent both before making a purchase. Just because a majority group of people might like one game doesn't mean it will satify you. I know because I traded in NBA 2K7 for College Hoops 2K7 last week and enjoy Live 07 as my NBA game this year. To tell someone not to bother renting or buying either game is just immature IMO. You would think renting would be the best advice since we are all mature enough to make a decision on what we like and not what others might want us to like.

He'll love the rental when he sees players shooting the ball from behind the backboard, shooting super high arc shots 5 feet in front of the rim, and the hitchy jumpers aww man what a blast!

I hope this was directed towards me, because I agree that he should rent both and make his own decision.

I'm sorry it was in response to someone else and I quoted the wrong person. But like you I also play Live 07 and traded in 2K7 once College Hoops came out. But I'm using the roster file and sliders from another site which have hands down helped the game for me. The reason why I said to rent it is because the original poster might actually find flaws in both games then it's up to him to make his own decision like you stated.

Live doesn't look better.

Don't get me wrong. I like 2k7 better as a game.

From the higher level during game play the graphics are not that far apart but just take a look at the player faces dude......it's not even close. Live did a much better job there. The close ups of the players in 2k7 don't look human. They look like someone drew a face on a shoe box and stuck them on a good looking body....lol

Well, if you play the game looking at player faces all the time, then I can see how you might think that Live is better. However, if you pay any attention at all to player models, textures, and animations then Live can't compete.
