apparently we weren't that far off last sunday after all. looks like ea counts people just logged into the game via xbl as part of the 1000 people. everyone thought it was just the amount of people in the lobby that counted (maxed at 504 from what i saw). so if you own the game or happen to be renting the game, log in on sunday the 25th at 3pm est and get your freaking 100 points. it's the least they could do for such a disappointing game...

i'm not an achievement hog at all. i only have 5000 or so after a year of owning the 360. it's more the principle than anything. i have 900 out of 1000 points for live 07. ea made this one damn 100 point achievement which has turned out to be the most impossible goal of any game released on the system. not a single person in the world has it...

so yeah, its annoying. it's annoying because i bought the game (and truth be told i actually like the game) and from 3 or so months of playing it it's the only one yet to be unlocked.

look, i'm not trying to convince you to participate or care. if you don't want it then disregard and move on. but to a lot of people it's extremely frustrating, and to unlock it will take a concerted effort across not only the us but the world. at the end of the day, you're right, it's just a measly 100 points which could easily be made up by playing other games. but if that's your way of thinking then you just don't get it...

uh, yeah, i think you're wrong. ea said that the attempt last sunday had 917 people. this was only 83 people away from the goal, and this was an effort that was organized over only a few days. this time it'll work, if for no other reason than there will be multinational support this time around...

You know it has to be disheartening for some of those guys who worked on the project, to see that even in an organized effort, 1,000 people aren't even playing the game, lol. Online anyway... :y4:

Apparently there aren't too many people who care since you can barely get 500 people to play online, only got 900 that even played the game that day, and that's with people telling everyone they know to rent or buy the game. Maybe it'll be a good thing if nobody gets the achievement.

there has to be SOME people who care. the damn game sold almost 200,000 copies for christ sake. but i agree, based on those numbers there were only 917 people worldwide playing nba live 07 for the 360 at 12 noon on a sunday...in the middle of winter...with no football...that's pretty sad.

but again, the last effort was thrown together over a few days. in some of the other forums there were quite a few people in europe chiming in that they either didn't know about it or didn't have time to organize an effort over there. if the same number of people do it this time as last, and if europe gets onboard, we should make it.

what's ironic is that when the game was first released, i took a look at the achievement list and saw the 1000 player online one for 100 points and thought to myself that this has got to be the easiest damn achievement ever. you mean all i have to do is be online to get 100 points? piece of cake...lol i think they knew something we didn't...

i'll say one thing, if we do get this freaking achievement, it will easily eclipse beating gears of war on insane as my proudest achievement on the 360 to date lol...

Lol. I really want to know how the developers feel when they see that it takes this much effort just to attempt to get 1000 to play the game online. I know I would be feeling pretty bad if that was me. I also think that those sales don't reflect how many people still have the game. If you remember before the game came out there was no media, previews, and the reviews didn't come out before the game like every other year because ea told the gaming websites no to release their reviews. No one knew anything about the game outside of a couple movie clips that didn't show anything and the sales are probably from all the people who bought it just because it was a Live game. I want to see if there are any stats on returns.

If my 360 is back by then, by golly, I'll rent Live and try for the acheivement, lol. This is one of those acheivements that VERY few people will have... 1,000 peoiple in the world, lol.

what i don't get is why some people are so openly hostile towards this thing. if you hate the game that's one thing. but you should see some of the comments on some of the other gaming forums. it's like ea killed their firstborn or something. i just don't get it. if you don't have/own the game or dont want to participate so be it. it's a free country. but why you would savagely and personally attack people who are trying to work this out is beyond me

anyway, we're trying to get this event picked up by mainstream gaming and news sites, so hopefully it'll gain some steam. i wish i had the money to buy banner ads lol:
