For the life of me I can't figure out why they release march madness so late.
By the time it comes out, it's almost baseball season.

I am starting to really like the sounds of this game. Hopefully they don't screw it up again.

8.) Will the CPU be using all kinds of plays that are in the playbook?
Yes. This is one of the most improved areas of the game. Each CPU team has about 25 unique plays that they can run, although just like in the real NBA, teams won't run a set play on every possession. We take into account a team's general offensive tendencies and the tempo they like to play at, so an up tempo team like Phoenix will only run set plays about 15 or 20% of the time, whereas a slow down team like Indiana will run set plays about 70% of the time. There are lots of new plays for each team, and the work we've done on team offense with regards to spacing and player AI has really paid off. It's pretty cool when you see the CPU run a play for ffice:smarttags" /><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<ST1lace w:st="on">Kobe</ST1lace></st1:City> , his defender gets hung up on a low pick, and he gets an open jumper from the elbow. <O></O>

        Sweet

        FEATURED SCORER
Basketball games have always had issues with the point guard being too dominant in the offense and taking too many shots due to the fact that they are typically the primary ball handler. We have taken a unique approach to solving this issue in LIVE 08 with the implementation of what we are calling the “featured scorer.” This logic is based on real player skills and tendencies: a player like Steve Nash is an excellent passer and known for passing first whereas Allen Iverson is a great scorer and known for being a shoot first player. Both players have prominent roles within their team’s offensive philosophy but in very different ways. As a result we assign a larger percentage of the offensive shot attempts to a player like Iverson vs. a player like Nash. You’re probably wondering what happens when you have multiple players on a team who are capable of being featured scorers which is the case for a team such as the San Antonio Spurs. Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan are all capable of shouldering the load offensively. In this case each player is assigned a percentage of possessions where the offense is run through them. When the AI is evaluating the goal of a given possession they take this into consideration and run their offense accordingly.

This all sounds good especially the plays. Live has always had each team running the exact same plays and playing alike. Hopefully, teams in 08 will finally run different sets this year.

I still gotta see some examples of this in vids though. I remember last year EA said that the Lakers will run the triangle and the team playbooks were going to be team specific. We all know how that turned out.

I just hope EA isn't pushing the same pre-release BS for this series like they have done the past couple of years.I really like the idea of teams not running set plays everytime down court in Live 08.

This is something that needs to be added in all bball simulations. NBA teams do not run a specific set 'everytime' down court and I would like to see this better implemented in both Live and 2k. Looks like Live is on the right track in this regard.

            .

Live 07 had almost no pre release publicity at all bro. Not even any net previews, no sites had it, no producers talking it up. Nothing.

Idiots like me went and still bought it and then found out what a dog it was...

This year though, they are talking it up big time. Really hyping it from June / July.

If they don't match their words...this series is officially RIP.

Good there will be a DEMO. I am playing the demo before I ever give EA any money again.

play calling is the thing to me that live has the 1up on 2k. the 10man mocap makes it look more organized than 2k games even when u just pass the ball around. eventho the game played like garbage, there were alot of defenses and offensive sets that could be used. 2008 is setting up to be a good year for all sports games
