Wow I'm impressed....The herky jerkyness can be hleped by reducing the game speed.

The CPU AI with the Spurs looked great. The CPU got the ball to Duncan regularly and shot when open on O. On D, the CPU ran man to man, a half court trap and a 2-3 zone at different parts of the game. I'm really impressed.

I like the dribbling on a few of the trips down court, and also he said the demo will be out a month b4 game release very nice, I think I will pick this game up.

Demo a month before release. They are not hiding this game this year, and that's a good sign. One thing I wish both franchises would address, is the ability to trick the AI into taking horrible shots.

The dev. on this video was raving about how the AI was improved, and if you leave them wide open they will shoot. That's good and bad though....the 2 times that he left parker alone, one time he shot a 3 and the other time he shot a turnaround off ballance 3.

I would like to see him drive the open lane if left wide open or take a couple of dribbles in to mid-range and then shoot. I tested this with Eric Snow in 2k a while back and he will shoot 3's and long range 2's all game if you pull your defender away from him and let him shoot.

It's too easy to trick the AI by pulling away your defender and making a bad shooter shoot ill advised shots in both games IMO.

I like what I see from Live this year and the early demo tells me that they have improved this game a ton.

On a side note: I cranked up the volume, and the crowd chants/atmosphere sounded great when watching this vid!

yeah it definatley has improved..it actually looks like a real game of nba now....but i am not sold on the "hot spots"....that just looks stupid and ironically retracts from the realism the game is trying to achieve..

I saw this video yesterday and it was smoother watching it live. I'm really impressed so far with EA's upcoming sports titles. With NBA Live next-gen, I've always said if the gameplay ever catches up to the graphics, watch out. I've been playing NBA Live since '95 for the PC, but went to 2k Bball as NBA Live fell off. Now, I'm excited that they're finally back.


Nogster: I agree with you about the "Hot Spots" idea. Personally, I think it should only be in practice mode. When playing online, you should already know your players hot spots. It would be very distracting and annoying playing against someone that constantly views the hot spots.

Looks a lot better, and actually playable. Still a little stiff at times but nothing like 07. Looking forward to playing the demo

I'm VERY impressed with these new vids, and that's coming from a Live ***** for at least 4 years now. All the little things going on, all the screen setting with players running around them, the AI of players (I loved when he was standing off to the side with Baron, discussing the game and Parker took it right at the hole, although they closed in on him,) and the post work all look phenomenal

"Live is Back", I liked hearing those words at the end of the interview!
Video shows the game looking alot better and much smoooother than last years disgrace in my face.
Nice camera cuts also of in huddle timeouts and bench reactions.
And a demo on XBL a month before release, funny how there never was a demo last year. Seems like they knew they were shipping garbage.

WOW!
These guys put some work into this game. It looked damn good.

The branching animations on the dribbling is dope. When I heard NBA Street, I thought "Aww hell no." But it look really good.

I like how the Spurs switched to a 2-3. And if left open, the CPU will take the open shot.

There were guys setting picks to free up post players.

Duncan got the ball in the high post facing up.

WOW!!

From that, it looked like a must buy for me...and it's only July.

Damn, they stepped up.
