Create/modify a franchise? Is it in the game?

Does anybody know if EA has included this feature for use in the game? It's fairly relevant given the uncertain future locations of several teams.

"It's NOT in the game". The producer said created teams(which in the case of madden was a team that you moved or re-imaged) are not in the game, b/c the producer said something to the effect that everyone wants to play with NBA Teams. I'll try to find the exact quote.

Not exactly. We added a feature this year called “Quick Pick Play” where after choosing the teams you want to play with you can quickly choose your players for that game from every player in the league. It's basically a way that you can easily create a team of your favorite players for a Play Now game. And there is an auto fill roster feature so you don't have to select every player if you don't want to (just pick your starters, or even just a player or two). We haven't really considered doing a true create-a-team mode since NBA LIVE is an authentic NBA-licensed game.


That's bs, b/c they've had it in past versions of the game. Its just a cop-out, although w/the problems they've been having, it may need to wait a year. However they should bring in some type of create a team mode, complete w/the ability to drop multiple teams in, and to have as many as you want (after all, they now how the storage space that wasn't avaible on previous generation consoles). Make it like madden w/ creating your arena, create your logo, name your team( I would rename the lakers the tremors, which is more LA relevant), and design your own unis. If they could do this on the PS2 & Xbox for NCAA & Madden, I don't see why they couldn't do it on hardware that's more advanced. They also need this in NCAA March Madness as well.

yep, 2000 had Create a Team and it was quite possibly the most missed feature from a past game. He also had a BS response for why they aren't doing Draft Classes from MM08 to NBA08.

I agree, they needed a "pickup" year for the crap they have been putting out, but while this year can focus on gameplay (assuming they do a good job) next year they need to focus on what made Live such a good and respected game in the first place. Create a Team, 10 man freestyle, good mini games, and dynasty cut-scenes.
