Doesn't Live still outsell 2k?

Why would a 2k demo release hurt Live's demo release?

I'd bet that people would dl both.

Not on nexxtgen consoles...Ps2 is a given to live because of their huge fanbase.

Holiday weekends are the best time to release any entertainment options. Movie studios fight it out to plant their big releases right around 4th of July, memorial day, and yes labor day. When people aren't at work, they're available for leisure activities.

I can't believe I'm reading here that it's less likely for a video game to come out on a holiday weekend than any other time.

The bottom line is still ALL sales though cause at the end of the day its a total sales on all platforms that counts...So Live outselling 2k still sais alot...Particularly when 2k is the better quality game

I don't think anyone said a video game release. We said downloading a demo.

People go out to family events on those weekends so of course they can watch a movie. That's what most families go to do on these sort of weekends.

Most families don't think to stay home and dl a video game to play its latest demo.

I think the next-gen sales are more important for the future. While Live outselling 2k on PS2 and Xbox is a good thing, I think 2k will gladly accept that they outsold live on the next gen and are capturing and hopefully building some loyalty with 360 and PS3 owners.

I think it is a pretty big deal when 2k outsells any EA game, it represents that people are catching on that 2k has the better title and word of mouth is catching on. Live can't afford to keep releasing pure crap because more people will flock to 2k if they keep on.

I think this years Live looks like a improvement though...but Live 08 needs a HUGE improvement over Live 07, not just a minor improvement.

Operative word is "LOOKS" improved...Every year LIVE "LOOKS" good...Looking good is not enough...I will admit that from what I've seen the game "LOOKS" improved but I just can't help being skeptical about LIVE and most EA games...I love their games and I buy them all but each year there is always something that leaves you scratching your head...I mean if the gameplay is great...then its the ONLINE that sucks...Its always something with EA.

I agree the game definately looks improved and hopefully will be fun to play but I think a lot of people will be let down if they are expecting it to compete with 2K8. If people have disliked Live on next gen so far I would be willing to bet they will also not like it this year.

It's possible that people will eventually turn to like it. But, if they prefer 2k then it's more likely that they wn't prefer Live over 2k.

I agree that is always something with EA.

Like Madden plays a good game of football, really it does. IF you learn how to deal with the fumbles and the super defenders... OKay so I have dealt with these guys, now I am ready to take on franchise...

Guess what? I am not, because Franchise is so broken this year its funny.

That is why I worry about Live...its like I expect some major flaw that ruins the game...

Almost about a month before release. And as many of you know. The Gamespot stage demo had the producer say a demo would be out a month before release.

That means next Weds if we had to take an educated guess...

I don't think there will be anything On top of that i have a very vague feeling it's not gonna be a smooth 60 fps . i think the branching animations are not there yet...
