Well that just flat out stinks. Hopefully the rumors won't be true. I don't know how they can pimp this mode and not have it complete.

Actually, forget it. I do know how they can do it. It's not like that will matter to the masses.

The guy in the blog says that they originaly weren't going to put the fiba teams in Live 08 so thats the reason why the game may not use the fiba rules. And the only reason Kobe isn't on the roster is because Fiba rules say that only players that have participated in the qualifying tournament can be put on the roster. So we can expect a roster update as soon as the tournament is done.

im pretty sure the full feature that will be in in 09 will blow everyones mind.. so to me the fact that its in right now.. kinda bare bones, isnt a big issue.

I appreciate the fact...the mode is in there at all. I've been wanting to have team USA on basketball games since they had the Dream Team game way back on Sega Genesis. I was hoping you could modify the teams and add players whenever and however you chose to....but according to the blog...you won't be able to.

It seems like EA manages to come up with an excuse time after time. with the players i can understand about the rosters and whatnot but how hard would it be to incorporate a few fiba rules and a closer 3 point line?

why make all the fuzz about the fiba being in and then giving us nothing but excuses why it aint working? If you cant implement it correctly why put it in at all?

You know what EA I was not planning to give you my cash in 08 what if i give you half a dollar this year and ill give you the other half in 09? cause thats exsactly what you are doing to us

I have no problem with it being bare bones...the gameplay is bare bones and that is what needs to be fixed first.

I thought the same initially... but think about it:

They would have to completely alter their game code for FIBA play. What happens when shooting FT's? Players now stand on this angled line right outside the paint. The AI will need to be able to be situated in the correct manner so as you don't see the same brain-dead rebounding as last year.

Plus, you have to make sure that you don't ever glitch and play an NBA game with FIBA rules.

I could not agree more. But they need to give people a reason to buy it that might be on the fence. Now they have one more.

Anyways i just really hope we can edit the teams and " i wish" they throw in the old usa jersey. from dream team to this summer team. I would love to match up dream team vs dream team 2 with young shaq and lj and kemp.
