Things you want fixed before 08 comes out

Here are some of the issues I hope EA fixes before release:

1.I hope to see more dunk and layup animations for the more grounded players like Duncan

2.For the AI to better recognize when they should throw specific type of pass. This may not fix the passing but it will make it look better.

3.Better differentiation between fast and slow players. In the demo it almost seemed like everyone ran at the same speed so that kind of killed fastbreak opportunities for me. I also had instances where I would have a wide open lane with TP but a lot of times it would get cutoff because he would take to long to get to the basket. I mean I understand when this happens with Gibson but with TP I should be able sneak in a few uncontested layups.

4.Passing icons need to be triggered a lot quicker than they do now because it really can throw off some quick scoring opportunities from cutters or guys coming off screens

If EA can fix these things before release I think that they will have themselves a solid basketball title.

theres slight hitch between the running to dunk/layup animation . its not a drastic but it could be smoothen out a little bit.

Just one thing: cancel the game this year, buy a solid sports game developer and make a GOOD b-ball game for a change!

i wish when your inbounding the ball and you get the passing icons up when you hit the player you want to control it doesnt pass it to him. Its frustrating when I want to throw the ball to Lebron or whoever with a few seconds left but he is at the other end of the court and I cant control him to come back to the ball.

There's a few things I think this game is lacking.

**Fix framerate issue on PS3. Feels like sometimes (around 1 minute of gameplay) that you're playing online with extreme lag. Has happened about 6 times with me, and I've played about 25 games**

1) Icon passing at the top of the players is a MUST, IMO. If you try to swing the ball from one wing to the other, you can't tell which player has what ICON.

2) The ability to hop in the passing lane and steal a pass. Funky animation when you hit steal and try this, they just stand there and put their arm out...JUMP in the passing lane! I also notice a bit of a delay when you push the Square button on defense, every other button seems fine. Square button needs to speed up a tad.

3) Alley-oop/Icon Passing - Have R1 as your ICON passing, have pushing in on R3 as your alley-oop (or combination of 2 buttons)

4) Interior defense still needs a bit of work, IMO. Even when the CPU is playing, the bigs just stand there most of the time when someone penetrates.

5) Get rid of the coach glitch (bright yellow suit sometimes on the sidelines) Not sure if this was just a demo issue, but definitely needs fixed before release.

6) I would think remapping the spin move to a circular motion, makes sense. Gives us 1 more quickstrike move when you press UP. Probably won't happen, but it makes sense next year.

7) Fix the vertical on big players (Z, Duncan, Oberto) they are GROUNDED players, they don't do reverse dunks and jump nearly that high on jump shots. Make them more realistic.

8) Ability to throw different types of passes. Chest pass, bounce pass, lob pass with the sensitivity pressed on the pass button

I still think this game is not as bad as everyone in this thread has said. I enjoy playing it. Wish the quarters were longer, but hey it's a demo. Minor alterations/tweaks and this game could be VERY solid THIS year, and next year would be EVEN better.

I actually like the trivia game, don't be afraid to learn something. There was a time when the NBA wasn't all about bling and (c)rap.

Just one thing: cancel the game this year, buy a solid sports game developer and make a GOOD b-ball game for a change!

1. Fix the rebounding! Can we even tip rebounds anymore? That used to be a staple in around 2004/05.

It's not just snatch rebounds out the sky. Guys like David Lee of the Knicks gets a high total of rebounds because he tips alot.

And rebounds should never drop to the floor.

2. Enforce travelling. Numerous times in practice messing around with Quick Strike, I blatantly travelled. I hope this is called during games.

I am a huge 2k guy and I am not ashamed to say that Nba live 08 seems to be turning the corner I am getting both games, Cant wait till the second of OCT

That's a big issue for me. My friend loves to harass (via press or double team) the inbound passes, ALL GAME! Why can't EA just stick to the previous ways of inbounding?

PS3 Version Revised List of Adjustments/Alterations to be made:

1) Fix framerate issue
2) Coach glitch in bright yellow suit
2) Square Button response is delayed a bit, especially on steals, ability to jump in passing lane and steal
3) Passing through players/near them, when a deflection/steal should happen
4) Big men (Z, Duncan, Oberto) are too athletic. They're more grounded players. They jump too high and run too fast
5) Icon passing needs to be at the top of the players and changed to the alley-oop button sequence
6) Ability to make different types of passes (lob, chest, bounce)
7) Ability to turn off L2 Defense Assist, and Auto-switch players while pressing L2
8) Animation of putting a hand up on GOOD defense to challenge a shot (like 2k)
8) Ability to use down motion on right stick to swipe at ball, left and right to position your player (like 2k)
9) Call for pick button (pushing R3, maybe?)
10) Ability to control another player on inbounds, during a play, off screens/pick and rolls, etc..
11) Post/Paint Defensive AI needs to be increased, too many open/uncontested shots
12) Ability to make subs via D-pad during free throws

Other things I'd like to see before release, but not likely to happen. Hopefully next year....

1) More blocked shot animations
2) Better dunk animations (not so fast and better interaction with rim)
3) More moves with quickstrike (up as a different crossover, circular motion as spin, etc..)
4) Commentary is great, atmosphere is good -- how about adding a shaking camera late in the game, due to crowd noise or on big dunks. More signature/basic celebrations after plays or during game (Shaq, AI, etc)
5) Gameface ability for created players
6) During timeouts, actually have the coach talking to your team, telling you the gameplan, if you make a sub, have him say "check in"...refs on calls, have the player talking to him, players interacting together on the court talking. (Not too much to ask for in a next-gen game for NEXT year)

Did anyone notice on PS3 how calling the plays is different. In stead of hitting the D-Pad once, you have to hit it twice to call a play that you want. Makes it harder to call plays with some1 guarding you. I think they should have it back to the way it was in 06/07.
